Live Webinar – Wednesday March 9, 1:00 PM EST
Presented by: SD Times (Software Development Times)
Sponsored by: Urban Code
Release Management is a relatively new role in most organization.
The rise of Release Management has been driven by other major trends in application development over the last decade: distributed systems using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), distributed development with outsourced and/or offshore teams, and the faster pace of releases with Agile Software Development.
These trends have conspired to increase both the complexity of releases and the cost of failure for releases — while at the same time increasing the frequency of releases.
No wonder then that Release Management is in the spotlight, and under pressure to create an efficient and controlled release process.
ITIL, the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, provides a set of guidelines for Release Management; however, putting the generic abstractions of ITIL together into a functional system can be a daunting task.
Release Managers looking to improve the effectiveness of their release process by putting ITIL concepts into practice should join this session with Jeffrey Fredrick (LinkedIn profile) which will cover:
An overview of ITIL concepts relating to Release Management.
Practical experiences from multiple Release Management organizations.
How effective Release Management can add value throughout the SDLC.
How automation can improve compliance and reliability while improving efficiency.

Live Webinar March 11, 2011 – 2:00 pm EST Presented by CollabNet Duration: 1 Hour 1 Cat C Free
We often speak about ‘self organizing teams’ in the Agile space without properly defining how such teams behave or the best ways to lead them.
Based on work with Agile teams as well as research on the topic of self organizing teams and leadership, we use an “Agile Team Maturity Scale.â€In coaching and training at different organizations these concepts are used to work with Agile leaders and teams in recognizing characteristics of team behavior.
One key factor is when and how an Agile team leader needs to modify his or her behavior to support the team’s movement towards true self organization.
This workshop takes a dual-thread approach by examining both the behavior of Agile teams and the roles and behaviors of effective Agile leaders.
