Correct resource over-allocation by using best practices to assign resources to tasks, analyze resource assignments and level resource workloads with Microsoft Project 2010.
Use the Interactive Team Planner to visualize the right mix of resources and assignments with a simple and intuitive resource view. Simply drag and drop to effectively plan tasks and optimize resources for your entire team and project.
Learn how to communicate team assignments and apply optimization techniques to realign workloads based on limited resource availability. Quickly identify unassigned or unscheduled tasks and proactively solve problems: the new Team Planner creates a visual alert to potential problems and allows you to manually level resources as you work. You can also choose to automatically level over-allocated resources on a task-by-task basis or use the Task Inspector to instantly see options.
Simplify planning with inactive and active tasks and perform “what-if” analysis on different scheduling scenarios to review impacts of over-allocations on schedule and resources.
Benefits: Easily identify resource over-allocations, plan and communicate team assignments more effectively and apply optimization techniques to realign workloads based on limited resource availability. With Project 2010, you can use the Team Planner to quickly visualize over-allocated resources; then simply drag and drop to move tasks from one resource to another to distribute assignments more effectively. Set scheduling options in the new Microsoft Office Backstageâ„¢ view and apply resource leveling functionality with a click on the Ribbon.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
- Identify resource over-allocations
- Use Team Planner to visualize the ideal mix of resources
- Automatically level your resources in Task Inspector
- Use inactive / active task functionality and “what-if” analysis
- Take advantage of the new Fluentâ„¢ User Interface and simplified navigation
Who Should Attend: This webinar is designed for individuals who use Microsoft Project regularly, including those who use it on a day-to-day basis: project schedulers, project team members, project managers, project controllers, project control officers, and project engineers.

When I go to the IIL website, I don’t see this webinar listed.
Thank you so much for alerting us to this situation! We very much appreciate it when we have feedback such as yours that alerts us to changes in the information we have posted that occurred after the posting! We have altered the posting to reflect this new development.
It appears that the listing has been pulled but the event will proceed for those who previously registered for this event. We were told that when the session reaches capacity the listing will no longer be available – We believe this is what happened with this session. With IIL We do try to include the IILs CCRS’s code and often this is an excellent way to search their site for another offering of the session. In this case (MP0011) however IIL does not have another oneat this time.
I will let you know that we are going to be offering a number of enhancements to the site shortly. One of these enhancements for registered members is in testing now. Members will be able to get an advanced look at the postings that will be listed on the site well before they become the PDU Of The Day. We normally post items a week or so in advance of the event but this will allow members to review a listing of webinars and events possibly months in advance 😉 When we know you will too 😉
Thank you again for letting us know about the situation if there is anything further we can assist you with please let me know.
Thanks so much for the followup. I just came across your site, so in the future hopefully I’ll catch posts about training opportunities as soon as they’re made.
