It is common for the uninitiated to think of deploying enterprise project management and installing enterprise project management software like Microsoft Project Server as synonymous. Nothing could be further from the truth.
So much of successfully deploying Project Server is not technology oriented and often these elements do not show up on EPM deployment plans.
This session will look at what belongs in your EPM deployment schedule. Presented by Chris Vandersluis who is a long standing Microsoft Partner and the author of the “From the Trenches†column on the Project Server section of Microsoft’s TechNet site, we’ll look at the elements of your EPM deployment schedule that need to be addressed.
Topics to be addressed:
How to assemble an EPM Deployment team
How to set your business objectives
How to effectively start designing your EPM processes
What EPM will mean to you when deploying your software
Making sure that Project Server is selected for the right reasons
Proving the design and deploying the production system
What to do once that system is deployed
Presenter – Chris Vandersluis, (LinkedIn profile) Chris is the president of HMS Software based in Montreal, Canada. With over 27 years of experience in implementing enterprise project management and enterprise timesheet systems, Chris was a part of the Microsoft Enterprise Project Management Partner Advisory Council. Chris has worked on project management and timesheet systems on some of the world’s most prestigious projects including the Canadian Frigate Program. He teaches Advanced Project Management at Montreal’s Mcgill University and speaks at project management association functions across North America and around the world.

He Suggests:
You want a highly productive team
If order to have a highly productive team you must start with a team
Your project team has to feel connected in order to function as a real team (and not just a bunch of people that happen to be working together)
If your team members laugh together they get connected

A Project Management Redneck is a slang term, usually for a Traditional Project Manager who is conservative, risk-adverse, controlling, non-collaborative, mistrusting of the client, and a methodology fundamentalist. This term is generally considered offensive. It originated in reference to the color of the status of their projects and in some given circumstances the color of their complexion during User Acceptance Testing. – Terry Bunio
