Live Webinar – March 12th 2013, 12:00-1:00 PM EST
Offered by ASPE (REP 2161) 1 Category A PDU – Free PDU
Note: Although ASPE is an REP presentations may have to be recorded as a Cat C PDU Event – Contact Traci Lester Marketing Specialist at ASPE for more information

In our society, technology continues to rapidly outpace our culture’s ability to keep pace. From the challenges of internet taxation to privacy concerns brought on by Facebook and Google, legal and ethical practices lag seriously behind the pace of the technology. The inherent necessary changes cause significant problems and challenges.

In this web seminar ASPE will discuss the legal and professional challenges brought about by internet marketing’s empowerment of personal brand development. It is astonishing how fast and effectively someone can gain near instant creditability when building and maintaining a personal brand. But with everything good comes a bad. The bad in this case revolves around employees. Contractors have no issues in this matter, however, with employees comes employment law and issues of work product ownership. Along with this come issues of loyalty and intent. Both these issues can put the employee in a precarious position.

ASPE will cover the issue of loyalty and intent when building a personal brand and will also discuss some basic legal precedents that are out there, such as how employment law and work product ownership can potentially increase the risk involved in personal brand development. Finally ASPE will look to the future and what may ultimately happen long term in this area.

In the end, both employees and employers need to understand that personal brand development is real. It is possible, but it involves risk to both parties.

Presented by: Eclipse Project Portfolio Management
Duration: 1 hour 1 PDUs Credits: Category C 1 PDU- Free PDU

Risks exist on projects because by definition, projects possess uncertainty. Organizations that ignore risks experience reduced project success rates due to the wasted effort and delays that result from dealing with issues.

Risk management methodologies address this challenge but tend to be too theoretical or require significant process discipline or historical data to be practical.

During this webinar you will learn practical, lightweight best practices for managing risks throughout a project’s lifecycle.

Benefits of managing risks through this approach include:

  • Improved project predictability
  • Improved ROI for your overall portfolio
  • Quantification of cost & schedule contingencies
  • Reduced effort spent resolving project issues

Who should attend this webinar?
Managers/Directors of PMOs, Project Managers

Live Webinar – March 12th 2013 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT
Presented by: Training Magazine
Duration: 1 Hour 1 Category C PDU – Free PDU

Thought leaders (from John Dewey to Jay Cross to Seymour Papert to Jane Hart to Roger Schank) advocate for more informal learning. If you are inclined towards informality, are you certain about what it is and what it means for your enterprise? What about the far less popular and overwhelmingly more prevalent, formal learning? What are these forms really and in what circumstances are they most appropriate?

“Here I nail the jellied concepts of formal and informal learning to the wall through examples and an online tool—and I press participants to become more mindful about decisions about freedom, choice, technology, synchronicity and asynchronicity, push and pull. Use the free online YinYang tool to reflect on the possibilities for formal and informal learning for your organization and your projects.”

Speakers: Allison Rossett (LinkedIn profile) long time Professor of Educational Technology at San Diego State University, is in the Training magazine HRD Hall of Fame, was a member of the ASTD International Board of Directors, and was honored with selection as an ISPI Member-for-Life and more recently with the Thomas Gilbert Award. Allison co-authored Job Aids and Performance Support: Moving From Knowledge in the Classroom to Knowledge Everywhere (Essential Knowledge Resource) and a new edition of her best selling book, First Things Fast: A Handbook for Performance Analysis (Essential Knowledge Resource).
