Since the 1990s, the general approach to PMP exam preparation has remained static. Candidates study PMI®’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and some ancillary primers, then take practice exams until they feel ready.

While this approach works, there is a more effective new approach to PMP exam preparation that has more benefits than just getting you ready to pass the exam:

The Task-Skill Method

The Task-Skill Method takes a unique approach that focuses on the expected roles and responsibilities of a Certified Project Management Professional.

Armed with an intuitive understanding of on-the-job requirements, you will better understand PMP exam questions and achieve higher overall scores.

CorpEd provides a complete overview of the Task-Skill Method, including:

  • The 28 must-know PMP Tasks
  • The 28 must-know PMP Knowledge and Skill Sets
  • How to structure your own PMP Exam prep approach using the Task-Skill Method
  • How leveraging the Task-Skill Method can enable an immediate impact to productivity in the workplace.

The Task-Skill Method identifies 28 essential PMP Tasks and PMP Knowledge and Skill Sets and provides sufficient training for each. It still relies on the PMBOK® Guide, but as a reference standard, not a foundational requisite.
