Early in Alfonso’s career he had a negative attitude regarding his job and towards the projects he managed. That negative disposition generated more problems than advantages. He created a negative image of himself in front of his colleagues, team members and managers. The result was not good. He transmitted negativism to his managers and team members. The maturing process led him to change his thinking.

He needed an attitude check!

By changing his attitude, he changed his world. When he joined PMI in 1993 a broad window appeared in his mind. He dealt with Spanish people in order to convince them to create a PMI Chapter.

It is sad but some chapters are not always welcoming. PMI Madrid Chapter did not support his volunteer contribution, so he decided to sponsor and create PMI Madrid Barcelona.

This presentation explains his volunteer’s leader experience during his professional career from the attitude point of view.

People reactions are different depending on background, culture and environment but positive attitude gives you an added value as a project leader to manage a PMI Component. Don’t forget that your team members see you as their reference.

Risks exist on projects because by definition, projects possess uncertainty. Organizations that ignore risks experience reduced project success rates due to the wasted effort and delays that result from dealing with issues.

Risk management methodologies address this challenge but tend to be too theoretical or require significant process discipline or historical data to be practical.

During this webinar you will learn practical, lightweight best practices for managing risks throughout a project’s lifecycle.

Benefits of managing risks through this approach include:

  • Improved project predictability
  • Improved ROI for your overall portfolio
  • Quantification of cost & schedule contingencies

Despite the fact that testing often accounts for at least 30-40% of the total project costs, only limited attention is given to testing in the various software process improvement models such as the CMM and the CMMI. As an answer, the testing community has created its own improvement models.

This webinar introduces you to the exciting world of TMMI.
What is it you ask?

TMMI is the Testing Maturity Model Integration framework of best practices for testing activities. Quality models are no longer exclusively focused on development. They have expanded to recognize the importance testing plays in the lifecycle.

During this webinar DCG will give a brief overview of the history of TMMI and introduce you to the 5 levels and process areas associated with the model.

This webinar reviews the Test Maturity Model Integration (TMMi). The TMMi is a detailed model for test process improvement and is positioned as being complementary to the CMMI.

NOTE: Calendar conflict? Register below and receive the link to the recording to view at a later time.

Pat Eglin, (DCG profile) CMMI Instructor and Consultant, will share her insights and experience regarding the changes this industry has undergone. Change often brings opportunities and Pat will share information about the adjustments you should make in this changed CMMI world.

Tom Cagley, (LinkedIn profile) Agile and Metrics Practice Manager will share his perspective on the importance of testing in all development methods.
