Project managers face a paradox when it comes to leadership: they are tasked with taking responsibility for controlling projects in the absence of tangible authority.

Project Assistants’ President and CEO, Gus Cicala, will present real-world examples for the importance of project leaders, cover the defining moments for projects and their leaders and offer practical methods for establishing, maintaining, and regaining control through the predictable points of resistance in projects.

First, Gus will use real-world, high-stakes scenarios to discuss leadership in a general sense. Then, he will apply these concepts to project managers, using a unique perspective of cadence and rhythm to establish control with minimal confrontation.

The presentation will ensure that the audience has practical takeaways by:

  1. Highlighting “defining moments” for project leaders,
  2. Considering what difficulties arise and what sacrifices might have to be made, and
  3. Offering methods for practical solutions and methods for resolving the issues.

Note: You do have to be a PMI® member to register for this opportunity.

Presenter: Augustus (Gus) Cicala is the President, CEO, and founder of Project Assistants, Inc. Gus is an expert in portfolio and project management with extensive executive leadership and consulting experience and has worked with a broad range of clients throughout the US and Western Europe.
