Risk Management has typically been known as a project management task rather than a business analysis task.

However, as the modern BA role is being redefined and increases in popularity, BAs are increasingly being asked to manage risks.

As this can sometimes blur the line between the Project Manager and the Business Analyst role, it’s time to discover what your role is when relating to risk management in your organization as a Business Analyst.

This webinar will cover:

  • What is Risk?
  • Why is Risk Management Important?
  • How do Project Manager and Business Analyst roles differ in Risk Management?
  • What is unique about Project vs. Requirements Risk?

Presenter: Cheryl Lee CBAP PMP (LinkedIn profile) is a Director at Large at the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Toronto Chapter where she is facilitating a CBAP study group for chapter members. Cheryl is also developing a risk management training program for all PMs, BAs and testers at a large financial institution.

Agile is all about the flow of work through a system and how that work is efficiently and effectively ‘managed’.

Most organizations are adept at managing the flow of work at the Team or Project level but many struggle with too much Work In Progress (WIP) at the Program/Portfolio level.

Often times there are too many projects in flight and finite resources are spread across multiple work streams. What first appears as an efficient form of resource utilization is in reality the equivalent of an organization running in place.

Many Things Get Started But Few Get Done

Managing your Portfolio using a Kanban approach is a more effective way to manage the flow of work by making the amount of work visible, limiting WIP to maximize the number of things completed and using a pull system to only pull new work into the Portfolio when there is actual capacity to effectively complete it.

Being on the front lines of building and maintaining the modern Web is a tough vocation. It demands constantly ensuring your site is robust and reliable.

Business grows when customers can quickly engage and transact. That’s why focusing on monitoring and improving the performance of key business transactions is critical, especially in a hectic and fast-changing environment.

Scripting a synthetic measurement of multiple pages can help. But clean-room monitoring excludes all the variations in your users’ experiences. And looking at real user data one page at a time won’t tell the whole story either.

Learn how to look beyond the lens of individual page performance, and through the footsteps of real users to measure performance for important journeys.

Highlights of this live webcast include:

  • Understanding the variations in user behavior and site navigation
  • How dependencies between pages can impact user experience
  • Modeling and aggregating real user paths
