Research Demonstrates As Many As 60% of IT Projects Fail
While the causes of project failure are well documented, the impact that these failures can have on a Project Manager, is a topic that is less frequently discussed.
Although people might not always feel comfortable talking about how they respond when a project fails, as Project Manager’s we are likely to be faced with situations in our careers where things don’t go as expected.
Having the ability to face these situations and learn from them enables us to mature not only as Project Managers but also as people.
Drawing on his own personal experiences of managing a project that failed, David will share some of the key lessons he learned – some of which are project specific and some of which are more personal.
David will introduce a model for helping people recognize the behaviors that can cause their career to derail, and those that will help the project manager to not only survive a project failure, but thrive through it.
Presenter: David Baer, PMP (LinkedIn profile) is currently Program Director for a large, multi-year program to implement a global portfolio management solution in support of Pfizer’s core R&D drug development strategy.
