Dr David Hillson is known as The Risk Doctor (YouTube, Risk Doctor website) and speaks on Managing Risk in Projects: New Concepts
Everyone knows projects are risky, and project risk management is our attempt to address this. There is wide consensus on project risk management basics, but the continued failure of projects to deliver consistent benefits suggests that the problem of risk in projects has not been completely solved.
David Hillson suggests that this is due to limitations in the way we think about risk. Starting from a pre-definition of risk as “uncertainty that mattersâ€, David describes four types of uncertainty that must be addressed by our project risk management process, as well as challenging our view of what matters.
Take your risk management to the next level by ensuring that your approach includes every uncertainty that matters.
Presenter: Dr David Hillson, PMI-Fellow HonFAPM FIRM FRSA FCMI CMgr is well-known internationally as a leading thinker and expert practitioner in risk management, and he consults, writes and speaks widely on the topic. David specializes in both strategic and tactical risk, with a particular interest in opportunities and risk attitudes.
David has received several awards for his work in developing risk management, including the PMI Fellow Award (2010), the PMI Eric Jenett PM Excellence Award (2011), and the PMI Distinguished Contribution Award (2002).
