The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) provides a structure for describing all transformational work within an enterprise.

While TOGAF focuses on the role of an enterprise’s architects, it also very much addresses the space in which business analysts (BAs) play. This can lead to role confusion, blurred deliverables, and duplicate work.

In this one-hour webinar, business analysis expert and Global Knowledge instructor Adam McClellan (LinkedIn profile) will focus on those parts of TOGAF in which the business analyst is typically the most active, and he will outline how the analyst’s work contributes to the broader architecture.

He will also provide perspective for architects who work with BAs and for BAs interested in the architecture disciplines.

Model-based Testing for Everyone

Live Webinar May 6th, 2014 11:00 am – 12:30 pm EDT
Duration: 1 Hour 30 Min Credits: 1 PDU Category A – Free PDU
Presented by: Computer Aid Inc IT Metrics & Productivity Institute (Rep 2733)

Model-based testing (MBT) has received a lot of attention in recent years.  Still MBT is not in wide-spread use.

Based on empirical studies of testers using MBT vs. manual testing, we have concluded that one of the most important reasons is the lack of user-friendly and agile MBT tools.

The effect is that testers using MBT spend great efforts on activities that are not directly related to testing, e.g. debugging very long automatically generated test cases.

To address this problem, we have developed an approach based on a free MBT tool that helps the test engineer create and debug the initial model all the way to running test cases in less than one hour.

Once the model is in place, model changes can be done in minutes and new executable test cases can be generated instantly.

In this webinar, we will describe the results from our empirical studies on MBT vs. manual testing. We will also describe the approach and the MBT tool along with several examples of testing of NASA systems. Ater the webinar, participants will be able to download the tool for free.
