A key component of SharePoint Server 2013 is Business Process Automation, taking the repetitive daily tasks business users are presented with and configuring SharePoint to handle them.
A common request for SharePoint involves displaying a list of documents from multiple sites, or a rolling up a list of project reports for stakeholders across many different projects.
In SharePoint 2010 as long as the content was in the same site collection you could use the Content Query web part.
SharePoint 2013 introduces a brand new tool – the Content Search web part. The Content Search web part can display information from anywhere within a SharePoint farm or indexed by SharePoint search.
In this webinar Andy Huneycutt will discuss:
- The differences between the Content Query web part and the Content Search web part.
- When to use Content Query web part versus the Content Search web part.
- How to use the Content Search web part.
- How to display data in the Content Search web part.
Join us in this ongoing series as we explore SharePoint 2013 Business Process Automation, and as we build custom solutions to solve real-world problems.
As long as the SharePoint search can crawl and index it, the Content Search web part can display it!
