Project Leadership Is NOT Just Directing Tasks

Good “Project Leadership” encompasses many areas that require observation, emotional intelligence and  relationship building.

Project Managers have a good grasp of the technical tasks when it comes to running a project – but how comfortable are you with “Real Leadership”?

Did you know that a “Leader”
Does not have to be in a position of authority
To influence or better the workings of the organization?

Think about the influencers in your organization.  “Real Leaders” can be anyone in your organization from a shipper/receiver to the CEO.

Project managers often do not have line authority over the teams they work with or the work that is performed.  Especially in these cases it is Leadership that makes these projects successful!

Learn how to be a stronger leader
And to be able to spot the “real leaders” that you work with.

Come and learn what is “Hot” and what is “Not” – You may just be surprised!

Live Webinar – October 30th, 2014 2:00 pm – 3:00pm EDT
Presented by: Eclipse Project Portfolio Management
Duration: 1 hour 1 PDUs Credits: Category C 1 PDU- Free PDU

Project Portfolio Management (PPM) is a strategic decision making approach aimed at maximizing overall returns on project investments. By focusing on the “right” projects, it is expected that there will be improved organization alignment to strategic plans as well as optimized utilization of financial and human resources.

Unfortunately, there is a significant amount of misinformation in the marketplace about PPM and many organizations that have attempted to implement these practices have failed. Of course, vendors stand ready to “help” unsuspecting executives with snake oil claims of “silver bullet” process or tool purchases to achieve PPM nirvana.

This webinar will provide you with a solid grounding of PPM principles – costs, benefits, critical success factors and lessons learned. These will help you decide whether pursuing PPM improvement is a valuable and realistic goal for your organization. This presentation will also improve your knowledge of the PPM lifecycle and provide you with the key decisions and approaches necessary to launch a successful PPM initiative.

Who should attend this webinar?
C-Level Management, IT Directors and Managers or Directors of PMOs

Are Your Stakeholders Accountable?

There is an art and science to project management, especially when it comes to balancing stakeholder accountability.

While you may not be capable to shift the culture in the short term, or perhaps never, there are strategic tools and tactics you can employ now to make accountability transparent.

There are four key areas that are constant factors in any project or initiative:

  1. Planning,
  2. Communication,
  3. Business acumen, and
  4. Relationship management.

These four areas set the stage for how well you assess and outline activities, educate and advise stakeholders, know your business, and create and foster trust.

The importance is to stay focused on the objective and leave the “take it personal” attitude at the door.

Learn:

  • What considerations should you make during planning?
  • What activities will strategically set you up for success?
  • How do you identify problems and mitigate the risks?
  • What are some proposed solutions that you can implement?
