Live Webinar – October 24th 2014, 12:00-1:00 PM EDT
Offered by ASPE (REP 2161) 1 Category A PDU – Free PDU
Note: Although ASPE is an REP presentations may have to be recorded as a Cat C PDU Event – Contact Traci Lester Marketing Specialist at ASPE for more information

A key component of SharePoint Server 2013 is Business Process Automation, taking the repetitive daily tasks business users are presented with and configuring SharePoint to handle them.

A common request for SharePoint involves displaying a list of documents from multiple sites, or a rolling up a list of project reports for stakeholders across many different projects.

In SharePoint 2010 as long as the content was in the same site collection you could use the Content Query web part.

SharePoint 2013 introduces a brand new tool – the Content Search web part. The Content Search web part can display information from anywhere within a SharePoint farm or indexed by SharePoint search.

In this webinar Andy Huneycutt will discuss:

  • The differences between the Content Query web part and the Content Search web part.
  • When to use Content Query web part versus the Content Search web part.
  • How to use the Content Search web part.
  • How to display data in the Content Search web part.

Join us in this ongoing series as we explore SharePoint 2013 Business Process Automation, and as we build custom solutions to solve real-world problems.

As long as the SharePoint search can crawl and index it, the Content Search web part can display it!

Prior to reaching a successful conclusion, the functionality that was designed, developed, and tested by the project team must receive the proper authorization before being handed over to the user community in a production environment.

This can be accomplished through leveraging the following integrated methodologies:

  1. Requirements traceability log,
  2. Unit test authorization,
  3. System integration test (SIT) authorization,
  4. User acceptance test (UAT) authorization and project closeout.

The purpose and utility for each of these deliverables will be discussed during this tutorial.

Midmarket CIOs and heads of IT consistently cite not having enough IT people as a primary challenge within their IT environments.

However, small and resource-constrained teams are held to the same performance standards as their larger, more-endowed peers.

Their challenges are unique, but approached creatively, can lead to resource optimization.

Discussion Topics:

  • How to establish and execute against meaningful, business-based performance goals
  • How to prioritize work for optimal leverage and execute for consistent results
  • When “good enough” is just that
  • Which “best practices” to keep and which to ignore

Live Webinar October 21st, 2014 – 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EDT
Duration: 1 hour webinar Credits: 1 PDU Category A – Free PDU
Sponsored by: PMI Risk Management CoP (REP #S048)

This free presentation is recommended for anyone who would like to know more about the certification or risk management community.

In this fast-paced world of international business, projects are being undertaken that are more complex, involve more people, and require faster decision making.

All these variables decrease the probability of success and increase uncertainty.

To counteract these problems, project managers must stay constantly vigilant of potential stumbling blocks and proactively manage them to prevent unnecessary problems from occurring.

Good risk management skills are essential to bring projects through to completion on time, within budget, and with satisfied stakeholders.

Managers who are more knowledgeable and experienced in risk management methodology are highly valued and more marketable in the workforce. By obtaining the PMI-RMP® (Risk Management Professional) certification, an individual will stand out as one of those prized project managers.

Presenter: Barbara J Zimmerman PMP (FAU bio) With 20+ years of experience Barbara is a consultant, instructor and is an adjunct instructor of Project Management at Florida Atlantic University. She has obtained experience in the utilities, manufacturing, education, software development, and financial industries. Barbara has a BSc in Industrial Management  and a MSc degree in Project Management. She is Six Sigma certified..

Live Webinar – October 21st, 2014 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm  EDT
Presented by: Eclipse Project Portfolio Management
Duration: 1 hour 1 PDUs Credits: Category C 1 PDU- Free PDU

Project Portfolio Management (PPM) initiatives are expected to provide significant benefit to multiple roles within an organization.

Intuitively, most staff can understand the potential value in the organization, process and technology changes involved with a PPM initiative. However, the lack of change management practices through a PPM initiative’s implementation is one of the most common reasons for their failure. Symptoms of this issue can include poor executive commitment, resistance or political pressure from functional management and compliance issues with project teams.

Eclipse will review common misconceptions about PPM initiative implementations, provide some guiding principles for successful change and detail the steps and key communication messages necessary to gain buy-in from executive and functional management as well as from project teams.

This webinar will also provide tips that can be incorporated into the initiation and planning of your PPM initiative to increase your odds of success.

Who should attend this webinar?
C-Level Management, IT Directors and Managers or Directors of PMOs
