Professionals lose an average of 31 hours per month
In Unproductive Meetings
Or approximately 4 days per month.

Meetings are critical to getting things done so we just can’t stop meeting, but this figure makes it pretty clear that they need to be improved.

This makes it important to learn the essential components for achieving meeting objectives.

Almost all meetings and anything critical to change in a business involves negotiation. This happens because whenever a group of people converge there will always be disagreements on how to approach the situation.

The problem with negotiation is that everyone tries to compete and win at all costs, which is completely wrong on every level of business.

The goal of negotiation is to move forward with the most optimal solution that time allows.

The critical piece is “that time allows”. We don’t have the time to push for all of our agenda, and the original reason for negotiation can be abandoned.

Ultimately, if you want to move anything forward, effective negotiation skills are necessary. To get things moving forward you have to facilitate discussion and work.

You will also learn:

  1. Differences between a team and workgroup
  2. What facilitation encompasses and its three principles
  3. The steps to facilitate a successful meeting
  4. How time, power, and information influence the outcome of a negotiation
  5. How to plan for a negotiation
  6. The common pitfalls of negotiation

The Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi) is the de-facto standard for test improvement and assessment.

DCG, along with their partner, Experimentus, an IT solutions and services company that specializes in software quality management, has been collecting organizational self-assessment data using an online interactive testing survey.

This webinar will showcase the collected survey data from 2014 to provide a view into how firms are progressing through TMMi Maturity Level Three.

The results of the survey provide a profile of the level of capability found in a typical testing organization, areas of the model that tend to give respondents the most trouble and a general pattern of progression.

2015 Started Off With A Bang

Daily news stories add subtlety, nuance and anxiety to the effects of oil price declines and the rise of the U.S. dollar on the world’s economy.

The dramatic drop in oil prices has redistributed money from oil-producing countries to oil-importing countries, but unfortunately, not all of it will find its way to IT spending.

The presenters will cover:

  • The three effects the rise of the dollar has on IT spending.
  • A first look at Gartner’s 1Q15 IT spending forecast update
  • Global IT spending from 2013 through 2019 broken out by:
    • devices, data center systems, software, IT services & telecommunication services.

Discussion Topics:

  • Where Gartner sees IT spending growth in 2015 and through 2019,
  • Why Gartner sees IT spending growth in 2015 and through 2019
  • How foreign countries spending is changed by the rising U.S. dollar
  • With the drop in oil prices, who will spend more and who will spend less

Enterprise Business Architecture is quickly evolving into a mainstream business capability.

Some would argue that it is already there particularly when 50% of the world’s top performing organizations have embraced business architecture as a strategic differentiator ranging from Government, Telco’s, Manufacturing and Financial Institutions.

However there continues to be a large population of change executives, managers and resources who regard Business Architecture as a theoretical practice.

Strategic change initiatives proliferate in business today. The speed and rate of change demands we maintain holistic oversight of all the moving parts to ensure realization of target operating models and designs.

Historically only a few strategic programs would be at play. In the last decade this number has grown to include on-shoring/off-shoring, centralization, spans of control, business transformation, vendor outsourcing, modernization, mergers/acquisitions, channel optimization, client segmentation, journeys and experience.

To facilitate strategic alignment and execution of these initiatives, firms are investing in business architecture.

Beyond Theory will focus on what are the market and internal forces at work which have been driving and will continue to drive organizations to use the models to better understand business impact, scope, execution and benefits realization.

The discussion will address the deployment and adoption challenges and look at industry standards and Blueprinting for strategic opportunities. It will provide a foundational knowledge of the business architecture framework and model types to crystalize scope, identify stakeholders, manage risk and how early analysis, through the lens of the business architecture, will influence estimating, resourcing, time, cost and quality.

Business Architecture is the link between strategy and execution.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Provide clear, rational reasons to do business Architecture.
  2. Present a foundational set of Business Architecture Models, views and uses to mitigate project and analysis risk, drive the value proposition
  3. Recommend a staged Execution Model
