Knowledge management practices are notoriously difficult to standardise. Every project, every programme and every organisation is different – and what works in one place can be a disaster in another.
In this Knowledge SIG webinar you will hear three different case studies:

Having heard these three case studies, Martin will chair a Q+A session with the three speakers, with questions invited from the webinar audience.
At the end of the session delegates will have a better understanding of what Knowledge Management means in practice and will have some working examples of the way others manage knowledge in their environments.
Delegates will be able to re-think the way their own organisation could adapt its own knowledge practices.
Presenters:
Andy Wall (LinkedIn profile) is Knowledge and Processes Manager for United Utilities. As an analytical chemist who operated and planned new wastewater treatment plants Andy realised that his job was all about managing “knowledge” not managing Standards. Andy’s focus is on using the tools and techniques in a practical & pragmatic way. No Theory! No initiatives! No high flying projects! Andy sees his role as an Interpreter; Translating theory into “good practice” which delivers results!
Adrian Malone (LinkedIn profile) is a director at Atkins with worldwide responsibility for knowledge management, collaboration and innovation. Adrian has 20 years’ experience in knowledge management and collaboration both in corporate and project delivery roles. Adrian is a co-founder and committee member of the APM Knowledge-SIG, a member of the RICS Global BIM Working Group, and a BSI Committee member for the development of the ISO standard for Knowledge Management.
Michael Norton (LinkedIn profile) is an experienced knowledge professional who has been involved with Communities of Practice for many years and is well regarded in this field. Michael’s focus is on community’ management incorporating Knowledge Management, Web 2.0 technologies and Social Media and he is heavily involved in supporting professional networking across local government and the public sector
Martin Fisher (LinkedIn profile) is Head of Knowledge Management at Industry Forum and has been working in similar roles for the last 10 years, in various settings: Government, Health & Social Care, the NHS, a not-for-profit environmental company and now a manufacturing consultancy & training provider. Martin is a co-founder and committee member of the APM Knowledge SIG and is passionate about the democratisation and accessibility of knowledge and ‘smart’ use of technology.
