Four strengths project managers must possess in order to share and pass on vital information about the profession to new practitioners is the “L.O.V.E.” or “Learn, Offer, Value, and Educate” philosophy.

The L.O.V.E. philosophy focuses on the human as the keystone of the project since they are the ones who plan and implement the project process – and they are the ones who complete those projects.

In this webinar Chris Greco (LinkedIn profile) will examine this philosophy and discuss how you can apply these characteristics to your projects and relationships.

Examples and case studies from the public service industry, military, private industry, and academia, will be reviewed.

Note: You have to sign in to ProjectManagement.com with your PMI® credentials to register for this opportunity. If you are not signed in with your PMI® credentials you will not see the “Register for this webinar” link

Improper governance and unethical behavior have led to such well-known financial disasters as Adelphia, Enron, Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, Goldman Sachs, and Madoff Investments.

In this webinar Eduardo Lopez (ITMPI bio) explains two new concepts, the Small Sins Allowed (SSA) and the Line of Impunity (LoI). Small Sins Allowed relate to the individual minimal ethical standards that increases the risk of project failure.

The Line of Impunity is the catalyst that triggers individual deviant behaviors.

Active apps demand constant care. The environment is perpetually in flux, and changes can adversely affect how an app works on end-users’ devices. To meet or exceed user expectations, developers and testers must continuously enhance their testing practices.

In this web seminar, the authors of The Mobile Analytics Playbook will share insights on how mobile analytics can help testers, developers, and designers improve their mobile application testing.

You’ll learn six techniques to:

  1. Improve release velocity without compromising quality
  2. Bridge the gap between analytics, feedback, and testing
  3. Overcome the “long-tail” problem of mobile OS and device fragmentation
  4. Become proactive in creating a better user experience

Presenters:

Antoine Aymer (LinkedIn profile) Global Mobile Lead Hewlett Packard Enterprise, is a passionate technologist who is responsible for driving HP’s mobile app lifecycle, which includes continuously assessing mobile business initiatives, ALM market trends, defining product scope, and coordinating execution across the globe. Antoine brings together a strong technical foundation, multiple domain and senior management experiences, and a creative mindset.

Julian Harty (LinkedIn profile) Consultant and author of A Practical Guide to Testing Wireless Smartphone Applications  & Mobile Developer’s Guide To The Galaxy: 16th edition was one of the pioneers in testing mobile apps. Working with mobile apps since 2006, Julian was Google’s first test engineer in Europe. As an author, quality guru, and mentor, he publishes extensively and is a speaker at global conferences. Recently Julian  has been undertaking Ph.D. research in using analytics to help improve mobile apps, including how they are developed, tested, and maintained.

In today’s digital landscape, the ability to scale an application up and down based upon the transaction load makes microservices an ideal architectural style.

However, there are pros and cons with implementing this architecture, especially as it relates to the Producer Consumer design pattern.

This pattern is a classic concurrency or threading pattern that reduces coupling between the Producer and Consumer by separating identification of work with execution of work.

While this pattern allows for rapid application scaling and may look to be an ideal fit for migrating to microservices, care has to be taken when choosing the queuing model in relation to its impact on performance.

In this webcast, Asad will look into ways to optimize Java application code that uses the Producer Consumer design pattern by showcasing real-world examples from our own experience with Dynatrace server code.

You’ll walk away from this discussion with specific ideas, guidelines, and techniques you can start using right away to architect your Java applications for improved modularity.

Presenter: Asad Ali  (LinkedIn profile, O’Reilly bio) is a technical product evangelist with over 15 years of experience in OOP, databases and scripting languages. His vast expertise includes application performance for Java, .NET, containers, and mobile. Asad leads a team of technical resources for the Dynatrace application monitoring product extending and enhancing the application monitoring capabilities and assisting with large scale deployments.
