This webinar focuses on the differences in roles between a Portfolio Manager, Project Manager, Product Owner and Business Analysis.

Very often, we are asked to fulfill multiple roles within one project.

What happens when you have an objective conflict between the different roles you are responsible for?

There are arguments for holding different people responsible for the various duties, but this webinar also covers the techniques you can deploy if you find yourself in such a situation, and the case is made in ensuring organizational checks and balances.

Presenter: Michael Boyle (LinkedIn profile) PMP PfMP Michael’s professional dealings have been throughout Europe with numerous global projects throughout the years. Currently, Michael is the Managing Director of Procurro Solutions, specializing on all elements tied to Project Management, Business Analysis and Product Management.

Programme teams and their stakeholders increasingly operate across multiple nationalities.

How does this diversity affect our stereotypes of masculine and feminine approaches to change and the criteria for success?

Change programmes and project team members, their sponsors and stakeholders represent an increasingly diverse range of nationalities.

Cultural norms for leading and dealing with change, and any associated stereotypes of masculine and feminine approaches are increasingly challenging to navigate.

Learn to:

  • Recognise what their underlying assumptions about differences might be
  • Develop their insight into the many facets of diversity and what it means for organizations and teams, projects and change
  • Understand what to consider when working with multi-cultural groups
  • Identify how these perspectives might impact their own leadership or management of virtual teams whether in-house or external (for example, across client and suppliers).

Kent Thomson and Sarah Coleman, will share their insights, thoughts and experiences of diversity in project environments, including diverse cultures both internationally and closer to home.

Teri Okoro of the Women in Project Management SIG, and Elisabeth Goodman of the Enabling Change SIG, will introduce their SIGs and the speakers, and help to field questions from delegates.

Polls will be used to support an interactive approach to the webinar and to help the audience to reflect on what the implications might be for their projects, programmes or change in a similarly diverse context.

Agenda:

  1. Introduction to the webinar, Women in Project Management SIG and first speaker (Teri Okoro)
  2. The wider picture of diversity and how it impacts our perspectives; interactive poll (Sarah Coleman)
  3. Introduction to Enabling Change SIG and second speaker (Elisabeth Goodman)
