In this presentation, “Personal Credibility and Leadership,” we discuss the relationship between your personal credibility and your leadership, and between your leadership and the success of your project. Mindful leaders are self-aware, and can therefore control their speech and behavior to ensure their actions will have the intended short-term and long-term effect. They remain composed, enabling them to anticipate the reactions of others, and counter their emotional reactions calmly and thoughtfully. Leaders who can behave like this, who take a mindful and versatile approach to work, develop and maintain personnel credibility because others—team members, senior leaders, and stakeholders—trust them to be a positive influence on any situation.

Byron Love, (LinkedIn profile) MBA, PgMP, PMP, CISSP, Project+, ITIL-F, is the program manager for Intrepid Solutions’ Enhanced Solutions for the IT Enterprise (E-SITE) contract vehicle. He has led projects and programs at over a dozen government organizations. Byron holds an MBA from Averett University, a BA in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State College, and two associate degrees as well. He is the author of the bestseller  IT Project Management: A Geek’s Guide to Leadership.
