I have no time for learning & training”
“Must I attend this training?

We hear the complaints of learners.
But what are we doing about it?

Many studies and experts tell us that training and learning must focus on improving performance. However, performance improvement has always been a nebulous or difficult goal to achieve through training and learning programs.

Bersin by Deloitte has released a recent study showing that training programs rank the lowest in the list that learners use to obtain knowledge to improve work.

The highest source of knowledge is from connections within the organization.

Skipping learning and accelerating expertise is the new “buzz”of new platforms, solutions and learning thought leaders. However, most solutions are stuck with “learning content and its tools and mindsets” and not on accelerating expertise.

In this session, Ray will discuss the following :

  • What is significantly different about focusing on performance or expertise?
  • What are the different types of expertise researches that have been found to work in rapidly changing organizations?
  • What compelling transformation must content undergo?
  • How do you help learners think and build expertise and not just learning?
  • How do expertise development tools such as framing, channeling, sensing, problem-solving and others accelerate expertise?
  • How do trainer, designer and coach skills get overhauled to become expertise accelerators?

Open source modules, and especially npm, are undoubtedly awesome.

However, they also represent an undeniable and massive risk. You’re introducing someone else’s code into your system, often with little or no scrutiny.

Each component may have vulnerabilities (~14% of them do), be compromised, or even be outright malicious.

Multiply that risk by hundreds of dependencies, and you have a recipe for disaster. In this webinar Guy Podjarny demonstrates how to mitigate this risk without losing productivity.

Guy shares data about risk, shows how to find and fix known vulnerabilities in npm dependencies, discusses how to prioritize the ones worthy of manual inspection, and suggests what to monitor in production.

Presenter: Guy Podjarny  (LinkedIn profile, @guypod Guypo) is founder of Snyk.io, building web security tools for developers& was previously CTO at Akamai & founder of Blaze.io. Guy’s research and writing focuses on web security and performance, often running large tests to reach data-driven conclusions. A frequent conference speaker, he writes at guypo.com and Medium, is the author of Responsive & Fast: Implementing High-Performance Responsive Design, and the creator of Mobitest.

Build Your Dream Team!

Successful organizations realize that high-performing teams are the coin of the realm in the always-on-call global workplace.

This reliance on harnessing the power of the collective will continue to grow in importance as we near the 2020 workplace.

To best deploy the skill and productivity a team can provide, organizations and leaders must understand how to build and maintain nimble, flexible and effective team structures, regardless of the challenges.

Among these challenges are the virtual workforce, but similar to the dependence on teams, organizations have no plans to reduce the number of employees who work remotely five days a week. In fact 26% of organizations want to increase the number of remote workers across all levels.

So how does an organization better manage the performance of these critical work groups?

In much the same way they manage individual employees. Except, as many in the HR community are well aware, that hasn’t been a huge success story. The gap between where performance management processes are now (annual reviews and ratings of past performance) to where HR practitioners want them to be remains a looming reminder of HR’s vacant seat at the table.

In this webcast Yuval Dvir (LinkedIn profile, HCI bio) Digital Transformation Executive, will take a look at some of the remedies that an organization can apply to their performance management process that should help both individuals and teams.

Learn some of the fixes that HCI research recommends including continuing to invest in technology and to automate certain processes that have traditionally been viewed as more time-consuming than valuable.
