Activity Type: Education – Online or Digital Media 1 PDU – Free

Achieve Your Goals!

Setting and achieving goals are crucial skills for all professionals.  Strong performance management goals allow both staff and the overall organization to achieve successful outcomes.

However, most people struggle to determine the true goal, let alone take the time to state the goal and how to set the plan.

One University of Scranton study found 92% of people that set New Year’s Goals never achieve them.

With the right goals in place, companies often see increases in both employee engagement and overall performance.

Come with at least one personal or professional goal you want to implement successfully, and you will leave with a strategy in place to reach your goal. You will also have a template and plan for assisting others in your organization with their goal setting.

Benefits of the webcast will include:

  • Writing a goal that is ready to go
  • A plan to take immediate action on accomplishing your goal
  • A plan to work through the obstacles that might prevent you from achieving the goal
  • Learning the tools necessary to accomplish your goal
  • Goal Planning Power Grid to share to help others achieve their goals
  • Motivation to achieve the goal

Join Joan Fletcher Mais PCC (LinkedIn profile), for this productive session and leave with the knowledge and skills to set a goal and the tools to achieve it.

Note: SHRM has pre-approved this webcast for 1 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) towards SHRM-CP℠ or SHRM-SCP℠ Certifications.

Live Webinar – August 10th, 2017 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free
Provider: Training Magazine Network

Grab this opportunity to learn some great tips and also get a sneak preview of what it will be like to join us at Training’s Online Learning Conference in New Orleans.  Each speaker will present a 15-minute condensed sample of their OLC content.

Learn plenty of useful tips even during this brief preview!

Part 1: Building a Smarter Learning Ecosystem

L&D has failed to keep up with the ever-changing world of work. While content and technology are important components of a right-fit strategy, modernizing your approach starts with a fundamental mindset shift in how learning is perceived.

JD Dillon, (LinkedIn profile) Principal Learning Strategist, Axonify  introduce you to the modern learning ecosystem framework, which provides a consistent yet flexible way to address performance challenges and foster a continuous learning experience that provides clear value to your business and employees.

Part 2: Blended Learning: A Four Dimensional Problem

When designing a blended learning solution, you need to think about a much more complex choreography than you would for traditional face-to-face solution.

You need to consider how to integrate content, learners, facilitators, producers, and technology throughout the process.

Every participant in this “dance” might be doing something independently, but the outcome needs to be a synchronized flow of information.

Jennifer Hofmann will discuss this four-dimensional problem and ways to ensure that the right content is in the right place at the right time, and delivered to the right audience of learners.

Part 3: A Blueprint for Formal and Informal Learning

Christopher King willexplore a process that blends the benefits of deliberate instructional design with informal learning’s focus on performance—the Learning Experience and Performance (LEaP) Plan.

It identifies the content best delivered via formal instruction, and which content belongs in the “70 and 20.” It meets learners where they learn today, then greets them back in the workflow, when they shift from “Learners” to “Performers.”

Join Christopher to find out how the LEaP Plan is the key to unlocking support for the Moment of Apply—when your learners need that little push to do it right, build good habits, and improve their performance.

Learn how you can create your own set of stories!

The Power Of Stories Can Be Transformative – Very often, the power in the training that we do is the stories that we tell.

In The Leadership Challenge Workshop, creating signature stories, for example, is what creates energy and engagement around The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.

But what does it take to develop a “signature story” that is inspiring and that helps learners connect to a leadership behavior or key concept?

In this session, Renee Harness (LinkedIn profile) Principal, Harness Leadership & Vaundee Arnold (LinkedIn profile) People Developer, Whataburger, LLC  will describe powerful “signature stories” and the components that make them memorabl.

Renee and Vandee will look at the research around imagery and storytelling and give you resources to create and share a story that engages learners.
