In the webinar “Microsoft Project and Agile: Apples and Oranges?”, Bob Tyler (LinkedIn profile)  explored how to use Microsoft Project on the desktop to manage Agile projects.

In this webinar sequel, Bob will take it to the next level and discuss how to use Project Web App (PWA) to manage Agile projects! And you will do it without custom coding or writing macros!

Microsoft PPM (Project Portfolio Management – Microsoft Project with Project Server) is a very powerful scheduling tool, but it can also be used very effectively on projects using Agile or other iterative methodologies.

Using Project Server (on premise or Project Online), Bob will demonstrate how PWA can be used to do it!

Requiring nothing more than configuration changes to Microsoft Project and the Project Server, PPM can be used very successfully to manage Agile projects.

Live Webinar – February 28th, 2018 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm EST
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: MPUG WebnLearn ( REP 1369 )
Mpug Member Free – Members only event

This webinar is based on Eric Uyttewaal’s new textbook Forecast Scheduling with Microsoft Project 2013 published in January 2018.

Programs have long-range visions, high-visibility, many moving parts, and programs are overwhelming and sometimes destructive (for reputations). Regardless of the challenges in managing programs, Eric believes that programs are inherently not more complex than projects, they are just on a higher level of abstraction.

Furthermore, program stakeholders are smarter and more assertive. Budgets are much larger.

Program managers who try managing a program like a project are doomed to fail: Program management has its own techniques and tools.

So, what are those?

That is what this webinar is about: Eric and his team developed special techniques and special applications specifically for program managers.

These innovations allow program managers to forecast their programs, and take corrective action early.

Program managers do not need to be monthly-messengers-of-bad-news!

With these new innovations, they can gain back control over their program, and, at a minimum, adjust expectations in a more timely fashion, or … turn into monthly‑messengers‑of‑good‑news!

Presenter: Eric Uyttewaal (LinkedIn profile) is Canadian and the author of the bestseller Forecast Scheduling with Microsoft Project 2013  He founded ProjectPro that specializes in Microsoft Project and Project Server. Eric has been involved in large programs at the Canadian Forces, IBM Cognos, Northrop Grumman, SanDisk and Investors Group. He was President of the PMI Ottawa Chapter in 1997. Eric is president of the MPUG-Ottawa chapter and board member again 2016. Eric received awards from MPUG in 2012 (Community leader), from Microsoft since 2010 (MVP) and from PMI in 2009 (‘Significant Contributions to the Scheduling Profession’). Eric is currently the only Microsoft Project MVP in Canada.

A Massive Shift Is Taking Place In The Business World

In most companies, up to eighty percent of employees are working in teams. And yet, most teams are nowhere near as effective as they could be.

They’re often divided by tensions, if not outright dissension, and dysfunctional teams drain employees’ energy, enthusiasm and creativity.

Join Adrian Gostick and Chester Elton as they share proven tactics managers can use to build cohesive, productive teams, despite the distractions and challenges every business is facing.

Sdrian & Chester will explore:

  • The findings of their 850,000-person research study, outlining the most effective ways women manage their teams—showing fascinating gender and generational differences in the workforce that smart managers should consider
  • Practical ways to address the real challenges today’s team managers are facing, such as the rise of Millennials, an increasing speed of change, a growing number of global and virtual teams, and friction created by working cross-functionally
  • How to enhance individual engagement; ways to promote healthy discord and spark innovation on a team; and techniques to unify customer focus and build bridges across functions, cultures and distance

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend live; you’ll receive replay information following the event.
