The largess of affluent boomers has long kept the balance sheets of financial firms in the black.

But there’s a new affluent class on the rise – a lifeline for firms across the financial landscape: the emerging affluent consumer. Emerging affluent consumers are those 18-to-45-years-old with household incomes between $120k and $249k.

This group has different needs and expectations for brands than their affluent cousins.

This webinar with Andrew Marder (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Consumer Strategist introduces you to the needs, wants and values of the emerging affluent consumer, with a focus on their finances, to help you capitalize on this new market opportunity.

Discussion Topics:

  • What the emerging affluent consumer needs, wants and values
  • Building relationships with the emerging affluent customer
  • Emerging affluent customers’ financial goals

What is the NIS Directive?

The UK has implemented the EU directive on the security of Networks and Information Systems (known as the NIS Directive).

Network and information systems and the essential services they support play a vital role in society, from ensuring the supply of electricity and water, to the provision of healthcare and passenger and freight transport.

Their reliability and security are essential to everyday activities. There is therefore a need to improve the security of network and information systems across the UK, with a particular focus on essential services which, if disrupted, could potentially cause significant damage to the economy, society and individuals’ welfare.

What’s In It For You & Your Business?

The Insurance industry is taking a hard look at the NIS Directive in terms of where they see the risk balance between themselves and essential services organisations.

Remediation activity to comply with NIS requirements will be considered favourably, whilst non-compliance may leave businesses without cover.

Similarly, directors should consider the personal liability that falls upon them for any critical infrastructure disruption that occurs and the reputational damage that could ensue.

The Impact Of NIS

The breach reporting and penalty mechanisms are the same as for GDPR, so that CNI organisations that experience Business Interruption will suffer fines of up to £17m.

Harvard Professor and ECI Academic Fellow, Dr. Francesca Gino, (LinkedIn profile) will share insights from her latest work, Rebel Talent: Why It Pays to Break the Rules at Work and in Life.

Consider why some of the most successful among us question “the way things have always been done” and how rebellion brings joy and meaning into our lives and can be an asset to our relationships at and away from work.

Rebels have a bad reputation.

We think of them as troublemakers, outcasts, contrarians: those colleagues, friends, and family members who complicate seemingly straightforward decisions, create chaos, and disagree when everyone else is in agreement.

But in truth, rebels are also those among us who change the world for the better with their unconventional outlooks.

Instead of clinging to what is safe and familiar, and falling back on routines and tradition, rebels defy the status quo.

They are masters of innovation and reinvention, and they have a lot to teach us which is critical to success.

However, what is the impact of rebel talent on an organization’s culture, and more specifically, do rebels contribute to a company’s values in a positive manner or work against them?

How can an ethics and compliance program embrace the great creativity of rebel talent while maintaining company standards?
