As an open source platform, Kubernetes has become a core component in the digital transformation of enterprises worldwide.
In this webcast, the O’Reilly presenters panel will show how to use Kubernetes to deliver existing applications—or more resilient cloud-native applications—with speed and efficiency.
They will cover key aspects of Kubernetes environments such as networking, storage, security, auditing, and considerations for deployment in hybrid cloud environments.
They will also examine Kubernetes history, architecture, deployment options, and core concepts, and include a demo of auto-scaling an enterprise level production application.
Presenters:
Dr. Brad Topol (LinkedIn profile) IBM Distinguished Engineer, is leading efforts focused on Open Technologies and Developer Advocacy. Brad is a Kubernetes contributor, serves as a member of the Kubernetes Conformance Workgroup, and is a Kubernetes Documentation Maintainer. He is a former member of the OpenStack Foundation Board of Directors an penStack core contributor and was the project lead for the penStack Interoperability Challenge effort. He is a co-author of Identity, Authentication, & Access Management in OpenStack: Implementing and Deploying Keystone , a book published by O’Reilly Media.
Michael Elder (LinkedIn profile) is the IBM Distinguished Engineer for the IBM Cloud Private Platform. Michael holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Furman University and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has numerous awarded patents and has been honored with two IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement awards.
Jake Kitchener (LinkedIn profile) is a Senior Technical Staff Member and lead architect for the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service. He is focused on scale, performance, availability, and delivery at public cloud scale and speed. Jake holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
