Mindfulness: A Leadership Superpower

Share

Online Webinar  – Recorded  February 13th, 2019
Activity Type: Education – Online or Digital Media 1 PDU – Free
Provider:  The Corporate Education Group ( REP 1011 )

Leaders’ mindsets affect their emotions, attitudes, reactions, and the ability to focus. All of these greatly impact the productivity of their followers.

More and more research is showing that cultivating mindfulness can improve these areas.

Mindfulness habits also improve both emotional and physical health. mindfulness is characterized by an open, receptive, and nonjudgmental orientation to the present (Martin, 1997).

Psychologically healthy, thriving leaders not only benefit themselves, but they also are critical to employee wellbeing. Recent research indicates that when leaders are stressed, they are less able to support their employees, and this in turn directly raises employees’ stress.

This webinar teaches you to purposefully “prime” yourself to be more adaptable, positive, approachable, and productive using mindfulness to improve your focus and soothe stress.

These techniques can also lead to faster, more effective decision making. This is a time of ever-increasing change, and more data pouring in than we can possibly manage. Our ability to focus well on the most important things is an essential skill for all top leaders.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increase your ability to focus on what is most important in the moment, instead of being derailed by urgency and other high emotions.
  • Dramatically improve on-the-fly decision making.
  • Use research-based “brain hacks” choose what to focus on better.
  • Use a daily practice to increase one’s wellbeing, health, and “focus muscles.”

Every year U.S. companies spend more than $90 billion dollars on training and development. Yet managers continually feel pressure to do more with less — to achieve ever-more impactful results without corresponding increases to budgets.

Fortunately, changing workforce dynamics have created new opportunities for  teams to identify what content, format, and delivery will best help their organizations’ employees to learn and succeed.

In this webinar, Dave Dumler will investigate the top challenges training managers are dealing with, and how to optimize an internal video library to help relieve some pressure.

Dave will also examine which training content and format types that perform best, how to implement an “agile” approach to creating and modifying training videos, and how analytics can be the key to helping improve training content while providing ROI numbers to management.

Presenter : Dave Dumler (LinkedIn profile) Product Evangelism Lead Panopto helps professionals understand how video can be used to improve employee training and organizational productivity. Prior to Panopto, Dave held a variety of roles at startups and at Microsoft. Dave studied engineering at Colorado State University and is the father of three children.

We have always had a fascination with the future — from the Oracle of Delphi, to predictive analytics or today’s weather forecast. But particularly in times of risk, pressure and uncertainty, it is easy to forget about the future.

Thinking about the future gives you the perspective you need to anticipate threats and trends that could jeopardize you today.

Every professional should be a bit of a futurist to take the lead in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.

In this webinar, Richard Addiscott (LinkedIn profile) Gartner Sr Director Analyst uses Gartner’s global “Digitopia” studies — with the zeitgeist from more than 25 countries — to help you harness the future to make your enterprise more secure today.

Discussion Topics:

  • Why every professional must be a bit of a futurist
  • How knowing the future better secures your enterprise today
  • How the Gartner “Digitopia” studies can give you valuable foresight
