  5. We apply change management to realize the benefits and desired outcomes of change.
  6. Applying the Five Tenets in your work

Learners don’t always want to sit through a formal training course, or, more usually, simply don’t have the time.

Microlearning is a great way to deliver just what people need, when they need it, to maximize effectiveness. But, as a professional, how do you create it?

This can be a huge problem, as while the idea of short learning sessions is great, they can end up taking almost as long as a full course to create, as you need high-impact video, or interactive features to explain and reinforce key information quickly.

It’s important to be able to create microlearning efficiently, so that you ultimately have the time to serve the needs of all your learners with the full range of topics they need access to.

In this session Richard Goring looks at the principles supporting microlearning best practice, like visual, dynamic, and interactive content to make it engaging, taking into account the wide range of devices that people use to access microlearning, including traditional laptops, but also tablets and mobile. Then explore practical techniques to create microlearning content quickly and easily using PowerPoint.

You’ll be amazed at the way you can use this standard tool to deliver visual content, with animation, and high impact media, like audio, voice over, video, screen recording. And, then ways to export it to video or HTML5 for easy distribution, in isolation, or through your LMS. All of which will make your microlearning an effective tool that your learners will be delighted with.

Presenter: Richard Goring (LinkedIn profile) Director at BrightCarbon, (a specialist presentation agency). has helped to write and create thousands of presentations, and coached hundreds of teams to present more effectively using visuals, diagrams, and animated sequences that explain and reinforce the key points. Richard is passionate about improving the way that people present and believes that anyone can deliver a great presentation if given the right techniques and a bit of practice.

Engagement in the workplace is a top challenge for business leaders and managers as attention spans are low, distractions are high, and even the most modern engagement strategies tend to fall flat.

Managers see engagement fall to the wayside in many areas of work, especially in meetings.

It’s a problem that must be solved so that businesses get the most from their people. If people aren’t paying attention and actively participating, the company can’t move forward.

The agenda must change. It must wander away from strategy and operations to include compelling elements – storytelling and analytics.

Join Dan George (LinkedIn profile)  and learn how getting people on board with stories and data will best motivate them to participate, drive discretionary effort and do their best work.

In this session Dan will discuss:

  1. Identifying monthly metrics that ignite healthy competition
  2. Recognizing accomplishments without alienating team members
  3. Sharing operational effectiveness across multiple levels
  4. Transitioning to a storytelling mindset
