Standards have been used in project management for decades. As a collection of best practices, they offer guidance and are the starting point in defining Project Delivery methodologies in organizations.

In the Agile world, standards are replaced by frameworks. Most teams also have practice standards, such as architectural standards, coding standards, etc. Surviving the Extreme Programming popularity fall from grace, one of the most common methods to ‘measure’ value is Story Points.

Unlike their grandfather (Function Points), Story Points are a relative measure and should not be used outside the team. Combining traditional practices, some have used Story Points to track Earned Value in a project.

Based on Stelian Roman’s (LinkedIn profile) experience as a practitioner, this webinar is an analysis of the principles of the Earned Value Standard and the challenges of using it in Agile projects.

Lead The Way

To better understand PMI’s Talent Triangle, this session looks at project management through the lens of the Leadership portion of the Triangle.

Plans are useless without effective execution. The role of the project manager is often viewed as a very technical role; tracking progress, measuring costs and filing reports.

TidalShift will look at how the role of the PM is actually a leadership role at its core and what leadership skills can be brought to bear that will not only make your project more successful, but make the job more enjoyable. Talent Triangle – Leadership

The pace of technology is staggering and the notion that machines will replace our jobs is receiving considerable attention.

By 2025 machines will perform more work tasks than humans, according to the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report. This prediction has worried workers and employers.

The good news is that organizations are thinking about the social implications of this man/machine shift and considering their options.

Deloitte’s 2019 Global Human Capital Trends report, “Leading the social enterprise: Reinvent with a human focus” reflects polling results of nearly 10,000 respondents in 119 countries.

Amongst its findings, CEOs were asked to rate their most important measure of success in 2019. The No. 1 issue they cited was “impact on society, including income inequality, diversity and the environment”.

Join Brett Wilson, Sr. Director of Thought Leadership & Strategy at Cornerstone and Julie Hiipakka, Vice President and Learning Research Leader at Bersin, Deloitte Consulting as they discuss:

  • The pace of technology and its effect on jobs
  • Design principles for the social enterprise
  • The key 2019 human capital trends and their influence over the future of the workforce, the future of the organization, and the future of HR
  • Key takeaways and approaches HR organizations can leverage to be better prepared for the “reinvention” ahead

Game-based learning helps create experiences that make learning stick! And while game-based learning might seem complex, it doesn’t have to be.

We’ve all played games that have taught us lessons we still apply today – whether we’re aware of it or not. But what about games where we’re aware that the goal of the game is to learn something new?

Designing a successful, engaging approach to game-based learning – with the right level of struggle and reward for the learning need – relies on the powerful combination of eliciting certain emotions and the elements of design.

Join Carole Bower,  & Charlotte Hills, to examine some of the powerful neuroscience principles that drive effective game-based learning.  Then dive into the key elements of design to help drive better learning adoption, information retention and engagement.

Gain insights into:

  • Key elements of game-based learning design
  • How applying behavioral science principles to game-play elements drives learner engagement and learning outcomes
  • How technology can help you deploy game-based learning

In 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared burnout a legitimate “syndrome” linked to chronic workplace stress.

According to WHO, this chronic stress can have severe consequences for employees, including lower productivity and higher turnover, as well as a serious impact on physical and mental health.

Why does this reclassification of burnout matter?

Join Julianne Tillmann (LinkedIn profile) Ph. D. Director of Research Limeade,  Sarah Stevens (LinkedIn profile) Senior Manager, People Team Limeade &  Christine Bilheimer (LinkedIn profile) Senior Strategic Account Executive Limeade and learn how it legitimizes the seriousness of the global burnout problem; & learn how companies should urgently address burnout prevention and recovery.
