In today’s business world we are so bombarded by information that many (if not most) of us live in a state of continuous partial attention.
While there are those who swear they can multitask, our brains are not designed to do that. We do not multitask; we switch-task, which involves processing sequential interruptions.
What psychologists and brain scientists tell us about interruptions is that they have a fairly profound effect on the way we think. It becomes much harder to sustain attention – to think about one thing for a long period of time – and to think deeply when new stimuli are pouring at you all day long.
In this webinar
will rethink some of our assumptions about focus and attention.Christa will unmask some of the “disruption costs” of interruptions, including heightened stress and diminished quality. You’ll leave the session with some concrete ways to:
- Prioritize and organize your time.
- Enhance your ability to do “deep work.”
- Successfully manage distractions.
- Increase your productivity.
