Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free

Walt Disney proclaimed, “It all started with a mouse.” The old Hollywood types, in their own way, agreed. But doing something “mickey mouse” to them meant an effort that was too small, frivolous, or unimportant to be taken seriously.

In our world today, Disney is not just taken seriously: it is an undisputed leader in the delivery of leadership excellence.

So … what do Mickey Mouse leadership practices look like?

In this Disney inspired session, Lenn Millbower, The Mouse Man™, a 25-year Disney World training leader and the author of Care Like a Mouse, pulls back the curtain on the behaviors that make a Mickey Mouse leader.

He will examine three seemingly frivolous Disney leadership expectations:

  1. Believe the hype
  2. Know it all
  3. Take the blame

Join Lenn for a “swell time” and learn how to make your own Mickey Mouse inspired leadership decisions.

A Program Manager spends the vast majority of his or her time communicating. Reporting progress to stakeholders, conducting meetings, and sharing metrics can take much of the day.

Certain communication requires careful consideration due to its volatile impact and visibility.

Escalating issues requires the insight and deft touch from the Program Manager.

In this session Marty Langer presents guidelines and tips gathered from both project and program management experience.

Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Association for Project Management – APM

This webinar will explore the challenges of developing a programme to deliver a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project by a client organisation where major infrastructure delivery is not business as usual.

The existing North London Heat and Power (NLHP) facility has served north London well for nearly 50 years and has diverted more than 21 million tonnes of the non-recyclable waste which would otherwise have gone to landfill. It has had multimillion-pound investments over the decades but is reaching the end if its useful life and the Authority is investing in a replacement.

Over the next ten years the NLHP programme will build:

  • Energy Recovery Facility to generate low carbon energy from waste, in the form of heat and power.
  • Resource Recovery Facility with an area to process bulky waste and prepare materials for energy recovery.
  • Reuse and Recycling Centre, for use by the public, and
  • EcoPark House on River Lee Navigation including a visitor and education centre.

The programme incorporates construction of these facilities along with many enabling works projects necessary to create the environment for construction in a constrained operational site without disruption to ongoing waste management operations.

This webinar is suitable for professionals with an intermediate level of experience.
