Live Webinar July 13th, 2021 – 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Human Capital Institute

Companies face two compounding issues that prevent them from growing and innovating the digital products and services they need to remain competitive: the lack of technology talent and the inability to hire diverse teams to meet corporate diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) goals.

Traditional talent identification, recruitment, hiring and retention methods have failed to meet these overlapping challenges.

In this workshop Paul Elliott (LinkedIn profile) Human Performance Architect, Catalyte & Eliot Pearson (LinkedIn profile) COO Catalyte, will present an alternative solution to hiring and retaining a more productive and diverse technology workforce.

They will share research frameworks and case studies of how you can tap into a reservoir of talent hiding in plain sight and create a new, more productive, lower cost talent pool of software developers.

Leave the presentation with:

  •  Business and technical benefits of tapping into nontraditional talent sources
  •  Understanding of how to use machine learning to hire/retain a more productive and diverse technical workforce
  • Leveraging current high-performing developers to create an employee excellence profile

Online Webinar – Recorded Jun 25 2021
Activity Type:  Education – Online or Digital Media .5 PDU – Free
Provider: Gartner Webinars

The disruptive pandemic conditions put into sharp relief what senior executives have struggled with for years:

Too many business decisions largely assume the status quo and do not properly reflect reality, especially amid uncertainty and change. For most, decision-making complexity has increased, but upstream and downstream considerations remain poorly addressed.

Decisions do not factor in enough relevant variables, adequately consider the future effects, or position the organization to capture opportunities and mitigate risks.

Decisions today must become connected, contextual and continuous by creating a truly symbiotic relationship between humans and machines to generate the optimal action.

Progressive organizations already complement the best of human decision-making capabilities with the power of data and analytics and artificial intelligence.

In this webinar Kimberly Harris Ferrante (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Distinguished VP Analyst looks at how the quality of the decisions made by data-driven organizations gives them a competitive edge that significantly transforms them and your industry.

Discussion Topics:

  • Turn decision making into your competitive advantage
  • Combine the best of human decision-making capabilities with the power of machines
  • Find out how better decision making transforms insurance

We are inundated by scads of mixed messages about software development, testing, quality, and delivery today.

There are the Agile Manifesto and principles, SCRUM, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework, the book – How Google Tests Software, the tech talk – Test is Dead, murmurs about achieving 100% automation, goals of delivering faster and more frequently to customers, the idea that we can solve every problem with DevOps, and so on.

Some of these messages leave organizations confused about the value of testing, and testers wondering if they have a career path at all.

We indeed are at a critical juncture in the quality and testing space, and if we aren’t careful, we could be joining the dodo and the dinosaurs.

How will we survive all this?

Dawn Haynes, (LinkedIn profile) believes the heart of the issue is in becoming truly agile in our beliefs, approaches, and attitudes about testing. Without the flexibility to serve the needs of our teams and organizations TODAY (and tomorrow!), we should be concerned.

So, what is the true meaning of agility for testers? Does it mean doing “Agile” things? Following SCRUM? Doing DevOps? Etc.?

Dawn doesn’t think so. Please join Dawn to take a deep dive into what true agility could look like for testers and teams moving forward!

In this free webinar, Rex will discuss these points and more, helping you be more effective in Agile projects.

Presenter: Rex Black (Amazon profile) is President of RBCS, a leader in software, hardware, and systems testing. RBCS employs the industry’s most experienced and recognized consultants, RBCS conducts product testing, builds and improves testing groups and hires testing staff for hundreds of clients worldwide.
