The pace of technology is staggering and the notion that machines will replace our jobs is receiving considerable attention.

By 2025 machines will perform more work tasks than humans, according to the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report. This prediction has worried workers and employers.

The good news is that organizations are thinking about the social implications of this man/machine shift and considering their options.

Deloitte’s 2019 Global Human Capital Trends report, “Leading the social enterprise: Reinvent with a human focus” reflects polling results of nearly 10,000 respondents in 119 countries.

Amongst its findings, CEOs were asked to rate their most important measure of success in 2019. The No. 1 issue they cited was “impact on society, including income inequality, diversity and the environment”.

Join Brett Wilson, Sr. Director of Thought Leadership & Strategy at Cornerstone and Julie Hiipakka, Vice President and Learning Research Leader at Bersin, Deloitte Consulting as they discuss:

  • The pace of technology and its effect on jobs
  • Design principles for the social enterprise
  • The key 2019 human capital trends and their influence over the future of the workforce, the future of the organization, and the future of HR
  • Key takeaways and approaches HR organizations can leverage to be better prepared for the “reinvention” ahead

Presenters:

Julie Hiipakka  (LinkedIn profile) Cornerstone Vice President of Learning Research

Brett Wilson (LinkedIn profile) Director  Cornerstone’s Thought Leadership and Strategy Directorate;  provides advice to clients to align with business goals and objectives. Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU

An overwhelming majority of research and development (R&D) leaders believe a hybrid work model makes innovation more difficult. However, 75% of R&D leaders anticipate they will make permanent changes to allow more staff to work remotely compared to prepandemic levels.

Organizations must develop new muscles to drive intentional collaboration in order to unlock creativity and innovation. Furthermore, to overcome the challenges brought on by changing expectations at the macro and function level, as well as evolving employee preferences, organizations need to create a human-centric work model.

In this webinar Atul Dighe (LinkedIn profile) Gartner VP Advisory, will help R&D leaders navigate the great resignation/retirement by rethinking career development to move beyond the dual career ladder to career pathing 3.0.

Discussion Topics:

  • Find out what leading R&D teams do to intentionally collaborate in the hybrid work world
  • Learn why you need to create a human-centric work model
  • Make needed changes to impact R&D team recruitment and retention over the next 5 years

Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free

Go beyond points, badges, and leaderboards – you’ve heard that for years – and NOW it is time to DO IT!

Why not use all the mechanisms and strategies that make games exciting and addictive to sustainably drive employee engagement, learning, and performance?

Employee disengagement and high turnover rates are real challenges whacking employers on the side of the head and companies in EVERY industry are seeking ways to escape the Great Resignation.

An effective implementation of gamification can help your organization achieve its goals of better engagement and a healthy work environment.

In this webinar, you will learn how we are designing GamiCon Orlando as a fully gamified event so that you can learn how to use gamification realistically to:

  • Nourish engagement – reduce churn by ensuring that every employee gets a chance to be a hero and sees a clear path to success each day
  • Transform behaviors – recognize employees for actions and outputs that drive business results
  • Create a culture of excellence – build and sustain excitement about learning and being a team-player

Interest in gamification has grown significantly in recent years as businesses want to get better engagement rates, improve onboarding, provide innovative learning methods, and retain their most valuable talented people. This interest is reflected in an estimated gamification market growth of 30% over the next 3 years.

Gamification can’t solve all your employee engagement challenges, but it can help boost the way your employees perform their daily activities, promote healthier peer-to-peer interactions, and encourage employees to share their work and ideas.

Presenter: Monica Cornetti (LinkedIn profile) CEO of Sententia Gamification, is a gamification education & design consultant based in Austin, TX, & Gamemaster of GamiCon, an annual international conference for the gamification of learning.  An influential speaker, and author of:

Activity Type: Education – Course or Training 1 PDU – Free
Provider:  HBR – Harvard Business Review

The 2020s have already seen a global pandemic, economic volatility, natural disasters, and civil and political unrest, testing our human spirit. Now more than ever, it’s imperative for leaders to demonstrate compassion.

But in hard times, leaders need to make hard decisions: delivering negative feedback, disappointing choices, and laying off employees.

How do you do the hard things that come with the responsibility of leadership while bringing out the best in others?

Leadership experts Rasmus Hougaard, (LinkedIn profile) founder and CEO of leadership development and consulting firm Potential Project; and Jacqueline Carter (LinkedIn profile) a partner and North American director of Potential Project; will lead a live HBR webinar about balancing compassion with leadership, wisdom, and effectiveness.

They will discuss:

  • Why being a caring person and an effective leader are not mutually exclusive
  • How keeping a healthy balance between compassion and leadership can bring out the best in employees
  • Why making difficult decisions can be the most compassionate course of action
  • Practical tools and advice for leaders at any level

Through their research, Hougaard and Carter have identified examples of successful leadership styles. Although leaders have different approaches of dealing with employees, every effective leader can strike a balance between treating employees with care and making hard choices.

Learn more about how you can take the next steps toward becoming a more effective, compassionate leader.
