Designed for project professionals at all career levels who want to understand how to be a highly effective mentor, as well as exploring how, through being a mentor, they can boost their own personal development.
This discussion is also beneficial for project professionals who just want to explore or understand the nature and benefits of being a mentor.
By joining this event you can understand how to be a highly effective mentor – optimising the development of others through non-directive, coaching approaches to explore and release their potential.
You can also understand how becoming an effective mentor you can accelerate your own personal development, and also see positive differences in your professional environment.
Richard Tulley will explain the principles of coaching and mentoring, exploring the fundamental principles of being non-directive, the basis for the development of coaching and mentoring, leading to their increased prominence in the workplace.
This discussion will also explore how effective mentoring relationships ‘blend’ into the mentee’s working environment, to be complementary, and avoid conflict with the mentee’s line manager and their development in their role.
Richard has explored a breadth of learning and development methods and is passionate about mentoring and coaching. Richard mentors within Sopra Steria, has run a programme and project mentoring programme for the last four years and also mentors outside of Sopra Steria on a voluntary basis.
Richard will share his experience and insight from his role at Sopra Steria and its approach to developing a practice of circa 530 project professionals, as well as from his extensive engagement in external mentoring programmes.
This event is suitable for professionals with any level of experience, but most beneficial to those who are already mentoring, or intending to become a mentor.
