The most complicated military project in history started well before June 6, 1944, the day when the first of 156,000 men landed in Normandy, along with the first of 50,000 vehicles, brought there by 5,000 ships with air operations requiring 11,000 airplanes.
Just how complex and just how successful was this project?
In this presentation Walter Viali will attempt to shed light on the planning and execution of this huge effort from the perspective of the Knowledge Areas of the PMBOK® Guide. Some of the findings may turn out to be quite unanticipated and surprising.
Learning Objectives:
- Planning, planning, planning! It’s never enough!
- The importance of logistics. Define upfront and in detail.
- Proof of concept and prototypes are critical.

There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t see a post on LinkedIn about, “Excited to join a new company” or “Starting a new job!”
It’s not surprising, as currently research tells us there are about two available jobs per available worker. Employees have the choice, and they are making the choice to stay or leave quickly.
With the settling of hybrid and remote work options, the need to design a human-centered onboarding experience has never been more important.
A great onboarding experience can improve retention by 82%,2 yet 88% of organizations don’t onboard their employees well.
What does a human-centered onboarding experience look like…virtually?
Jenelle Buatti (LinkedIn profile) Sr. Customer Success Enablement Manager, & Carol Stanley (LinkedIn profile) Employee Experience Manager, Limeade will unpack methods on how to design a human-centered onboarding experience where employees feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.

When crafting eLearning materials, many people use a storyboard to help the client begin to visualize the created content and shape the script.
Most people use only one storyboard style, but using multiple types can solve a variety of client communication issues.
Join Kirsten Rourke (LinkedIn profile) who will discuss how and when to use a “course map” storyboard, a “slides and script” storyboard, and a “visual storyboard” for different kinds of eLearning projects. We will also discuss how to make storyboards, and when you would use more than one in the same project and how they are made.
