Live Webinar August 31st, 2022, 10:00 am – 11:00 am EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Gartner Webinars

Economic instability leads to uncertainty that delays decisions, reorders priorities and creates hardship, all of which change the context of consumer and business decisions.

As buyer priorities shift, the relevance and effectiveness of current technology and service provider (TSP) marketing, messaging and value will change and likely decline without contextualization in the face of new economic conditions and context.

TSP product leaders must optimize the pivots that the TSPs are making among changing market conditions. This complimentary webinar explores how TSP product leaders can increase the providers’ relevance to customers and prospects in the face of economic turbulence and the potential for a recession.

Discussion Topics:

  • Increase TSP relevance by recognizing and responding to real market signals and pivots
  • Develop action plans based on the providers’ relative position and strength in a market
  • Strengthen internal operations to adjust to changes in cash flow, price and wage increases

Online Webinar  – Recorded June 22nd, 2021
Activity Type: Education – Online or Digital Media  1 PDU – Free
Provider: BATimes (Diversified Business Communications REP1811)

This question often comes up: “I am a project manager and our company is moving to agile or Scrum, does that mean I will now become a Scrum Master?”

In response, The answer-er hesitates and then give the unwelcomed answer of “It depends.”

And it really does depend.

  1. The Scrum Master role is deep and wide.
  2. Scrum Masters need to support their teams while working with the rest of the people in their organizations to build awareness and enable greater agility.
  3. A Scrum Master’s job is not to manage a project or deliver status reports — duties that people associate with the role of a traditional project manager.
  4. As a matter of fact, Scrum Masters may not get involved in status reports at all.

In this webinar, Eric Naiburg, (LinkedIn profile) COO, Scrum.org, will discuss the potential move to an agile way of working, the role of the Scrum Master, and what that means for people currently in the role of Project Manager.

With the Course You Will Receive:

  • Access to the Live and Recorded Version of Webinar
  • Personalized Certificate of Attendance
  • Copy of Presentation Slides

Presenter: Eric Naiburg, Chief Operating Officer, Scrum.org &
co-author of UML for Database Design and UML for Mere Mortal. Eric is currently responsible for all aspects of marketing, support, outbound communications and operations for Scrum.org. Agile, the new approach that in 1970 was created to replace Lean Six Sigma, is now ‘scaling up’ by reverting to Lean Practices, such as Kanban, Theory of Constraints, Voice of Customer, and, Kaizen.

Although the main scaled Agile frameworks originated as Lean frameworks, the Process improvement practices, including the very important Six Sigma component that is the most mature and confirmed way of measuring the impact of process improvement initiatives, were left out.

This is partly because they require more complex and nuanced skills and knowledge and partly because they are associated with manufacturing, whilst most Agile frameworks originated in software development.

In some cases, the reason for avoiding mentioning the Lean Six Sigma origins of most scaled Agile practices is just because some of the well-known Lean Six Sigma practices are now at the core of various Agile certifications.

Although Lean goals (e.g., eliminate waste, adoption of standardized processes) are in opposition to the Agile mindset that fundamentally embraces change, allows good waste, and is against reliance on standardized processes, Lean and Agile can complement each other and adapt to change in an efficient way

In this webinar Stelian Roman’s (LinkedIn profile) approach, Lean Six Sigma’s Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC), can be used to fast-track Agile adoption as well as how it can be used to convince senior management that Agile can be a solution for core issues and a way to improve the bottom line.
