PowerPoint, some people shudder at its name. If you are someone who does that, I would challenge you to take a closer look at this incredibly powerful tool.

In the hands of someone who understands basic design principles, not only will a PowerPoint presentation keep your audience engaged, but it also leaves a lasting impact. And isn’t that the goal? Whether you want to make a sale, teach a subject, or just share information, the whole point is to make your presentation memorable.

In this webinar Cindy Tingley, CPS (LinkedIn profile) says it is time to stop making presentations that fit the “we’ve always done it this way” mold and thinking of PowerPoint as a tool that generates awful, boring slides. The tool never creates anything on its own.

In this webinar, you will get a chance to see five PowerPoint myths busted. Eliminating these bad design practices will immediately improve the impact your presentation has on its audience.

In this webinar Terrence Ric-Hansen (LinkedIn profile) will introduce you to a free tool aimed at evaluation and improving your (and your project team’s) Work from Home (WFH) experience.

Like millions of others, Terrence started working from home in 2020. Most of his clients also started working from home and he was asked a range of questions related to how to work from home effectively.

Being involved in the interior fitout business he was keen to provide some answers and having conducted extensive research and discussions He has identified nine key elements to keep in mind when working from home.

This is especially applicable to project managers as they need to work from home themselves and ensure their project team members are able to work from home optimally.

The WFH calculator works as follows:

  • Read the information pertaining to each element and give yourself a score for each element.
    • This is known as your baseline score.
  • Identify elements where you gave yourself a low score and make some changes (as per the recommendations in the guide) aimed at improving your score on the particular element/s in question.
  • Rescore yourself monthly as you make changes.

As your score improves so too will your WFH experience.

Share this information with your project team and as their scores improve so too will their WFH experience.

Some changes will be easy, some will be difficult, some will be impossible so start with what you have and aim to maximise your own score.

As a project manager you should also guide your team members to improve their WFH experience and this tool provides a structured method to do so.

The learning outcomes are mainly linked to the leadership dimension and include:

  • Learn more about your WFH experience and how it impacts you as a project manager
  • Learn how to identify WFH best practices and to share this information with others
  • Learn to guide project team members through the transition to WFH
