Earned Value Management or EVM is standardized method used by project managers to track and predict progress and performance of a project.
It allows Project Managers with a way to accurately predict the future and overall performance of a project but using information gathered on completed work.
Using EVM one can monitor, report and correct project performance issues earlier in the project’s life than non-EVM managed projects allow.
This 3 part series will serve as a basis for EVM and will allow PM to start their EVM journey.
This presentation (week 1) will give the user a basic understanding of EVM and what it take run a project that requires EVM tracking.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain a basic understanding of what Earned Value Management (EVM) is.
- Learn why EVM is important in Project Management.
- Learn how EVM is calculated in Microsoft Project and what it measures.
