Creating accessible online courses provides an opportunity for people with disabilities to learn successfully.

Additionally, developing compliant courses reach a larger more inclusive audience, and it can be a legal issue.

In the US, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires that government and educational organizations make learning accessible (including eLearning). eLearning developers need to take into consideration creating eLearning that is accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, physically disabled, and developmentally disabled.

Anita Horsely (LinkedIn profile) will  provide participants with a sample captivate use-case and a workbook.

In this session, you will learn:

    1. Definitions related to people with disabilities and developing eLearning content
    2. Benefits of creating accessible eLearning
    3. Steps to designing accessible courses
    4. Creating Section 508 compliant projects with Adobe Captivate
