Are Your Computers Safe?

Computer hacking in its various forms has commanded headlines in recent years, and never has the topic had a more obvious impact than in the American political drama of the past half-year or so.

Regardless of our political leanings, it is incumbent upon each of us in the computer “industry” to be well informed on computer security for two reasons:

  1. So we can exercise due professional diligence to secure the systems we create and work with, and
  2. So we can participate in public discourse in a way that replaces hysteria (on the one extreme) and complacency (on the other) with clear-headed discussion of the available information.

So, was President Trump right when he said to reporters on New Years Eve that, “no computer is safe”?

Join Alan Koch (LinkedIn profile)  and take a look at what is involved in making computers safe as we delve into this question.
