In this webinar Efrem Mallach aims to improve participants’ understanding of system-level implementation issues.

Information system conversion has been with us since users of punched-card tabulating systems first moved to vacuum-tube computers. However, it has generally been seen as an afterthought: once the “interesting” development stages of analysis, design and so on are done, it will just happen. Efrem Mallach views the process holistically, from both the technical and human viewpoints. This reflects the fact that information systems have both technical and human components. Ignoring one side or the other can lead to problems, which can be avoided if all aspects are considered together.

Presenter: Dr. Mallach (LinkedIn profile) has taught in the information systems field since 1984. In addition, he has had a long and varied career in the information technology industry – before this time, during a break from teaching in 1998-2003, and on a part-time basis while teaching. This exposure to real-world practice, which continues today, gives him a perspective on information systems that is impossible to obtain through academic pursuits alone.
