Live Webinar January 18th, 2023 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: PMTA  Project Management Training Alliance

Join  Bill Flanagan, MBA, PE, PMI-RMP, PMP in which he will explain the  huge benefits you will achieve in using a Monte Carlo Simulation to analyze your project risk.

Bill will cover the following in this webinar:

  • Basics of what a Monte Carlo Simulation is and how it is setup on a project.
  • Demonstration of how the integrated schedule-cost risk of a project compares to the deterministic values of cost and schedule.  Once seeing this you will probably never go back to developing a schedule and cost estimate with purely deterministic values again.
  • Demonstration of how the Sensitivity (Tornado) Analysis, calculated with the Monte Carlo, show us which activities in the schedule have the largest potential impact on our schedule and cost.  This allows us to focus on the biggest bang for the buck.
  • Demonstration of how the Monte Carlo shows us which non-critical activities are likely to become critical as we proceed through the schedule. This understanding is critical to staying on schedule.

Bill will wrap up the webinar by showing how cost effective the tool that runs a Monte Carlo on your schedule is.

Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Zoom (Rep 1026) Branded SPL

There’s a paradox in the cloud. Public cloud infrastructure has set the standard for increased agility and flexibility — but the cost and refactoring effort is under scrutiny and challenging business’ ability to take advantage of it.

In fact, managing cloud spend is the number-one challenge cited by business leaders in the 2023 Flexera State of the Cloud Report, with 82% of all organizations putting it at the top of the list, even surpassing security concerns (79%).

On top of that, cost management initiatives result in businesses leveraging multiple clouds driving increased complexity. As a result, leaders are taking a second look at their cloud strategies to ensure they can drive the best outcomes.

Join thought leaders from Nutanix as SPL discusses best practices to continue to innovate in a digital world, while making the most of your on-prem, managed and public cloud investments.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss how to:

  • Define the value and business outcomes driven by your cloud strategy
  • Optimize spend and resources in a multicloud environment
  • Refine overall cloud strategy (e.g., public vs private vs hybrid)
  • Increase value realization from cloud investments
  • Overcome cloud migration challenges

Project Managers have always been taught to focus on the Triple Constraint, Time, Cost, and Scope. That is a good thing as in order to successfully manage a project it is important to plan for, execute, and track these variables.

This focus has been reflected in PMBOK®s from the 1st through the 6th edition with PMI® taking a prescriptive approach to generally accepted project management practices.

As such, the PMBOK® editions have had an emphasis on predictive and iterative life cycles which usually follow a waterfall sequence of project phases.

In the 7th edition of the PMBOK®, PMI® decided to change the focus of the material to an outcome based format, more in line with ANSI, and ISO standards.

The focus is now on Project Management Principles and Performance Domains that are relevant to any project management life cycle.

This Webinar will cover the following topics:

  1. A brief history of PMBOK® edition changes
  2. Why Agile is different
  3. Explanation of Project Management Principles
  4. Explanation of Project Management Practices

Presenter: Pete Matassa, (LinkedIn profile) MBA, PMP, PMI-ACP President of Techknowledgy has been creating custom project status reports for diverse stakeholders of IT infrastructure, accounting, system implementation, and process reengineering projects over a twenty-year project management career.
