Online Webinar – Recorded June 26th, 2023
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Human Capital Institute

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for the environment any longer. If organizations want to thrive, they must focus on human sustainability.

With AI becoming more advanced in basic tasks, it’s creating opportunities for people to do more creative work.

People drive the real value in any business, yet many organizations fall short when it comes to fostering supportive, long-lasting connections with their employees. This is largely due to a legacy mind-set around extracting value from people rather than nurturing them to create a better tomorrow.

Jason Cerrato (LinkedIn profile) VP, Market Strategy at Eightfold & Sue Cantrell (LinkedIn profile) Vice President of Products, Workforce Strategies in this informative session.

Learn more about:

  • Advancing human sustainability: To create value for people as human beings, organizations must foster their well-being, skills, opportunities, and sense of purpose.
  • Shifting from transactional to value-driven relationships with people: Leadership incentives must be aligned with human sustainability goals, supported by metrics that measure human outcomes.
  • Implementing initiatives to improve financial, physical, mental well-being, and DEI: Leaders must recognize that when people thrive, their business thrives, too.
  • Join us to hear about Deloitte’s top talent trends and discover how they will impact HR.

Online Webinar – Recorded June 8th, 2021
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: Gartner Webinars

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated hyperautomation’s already unrelenting pace, while revealing the challenges you need to overcome.

This brought about the need to digitize and automate processes so we can all work remotely and virtually, and it revealed the inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and all sorts of ills on the path to operational excellence.

In this webinar Fran Karamouzis (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Distinguished VP Analyst delves into new data on hyperautomation initiatives in the enterprise.

She looks at how hyperautomation is not focused on a single technology solution or vendor, and why it often involves the orchestrated use of multiple technologies. These include artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), chatbots/conversational platforms, and robotic process automation (RPA).

Discussion Topics:

  • What C-Suite needs to plan and manage multiple hyperautomation initiatives
  • Opportunities and risks that impact business processes and technology decisions
  • Balance agility, effectiveness, and efficiency

Project portfolio management (PPM) has since the 1950s offered principles helping us to act in PPM-related situations. In this study, the author(s) consolidated the knowledge accumulated over seven decades of PPM research. By reviewing this extensive body of work, they have identified 17 PPM principles grouped into four distinct categories. These principles have significantly shaped how organizations understand PPM.

To facilitate practical implementation, they developed a framework that allows organizations to evaluate their adherence to these 17 PPM principles. This framework serves as a valuable tool for organizations, enabling them to identify areas where improvements can be made, thereby enhancing their PPM practices.

Additionally, the authors critically examine the limitations of the identified principles and their underlying assumptions. Recognizing the evolving needs of future organizations, they propose a pathway for the development of new PPM principles. This path aims to ensure that PPM principles remain relevant and effective in meeting the demands of organizations in the future.

As a result of this research, the authors of this PMJ article contributed to the advancement of PPM knowledge and provide practitioners with practical insights that can be applied in real-world contexts. These findings and framework serve as valuable resources for practitioners in their pursuit of successful project portfolio management.

After the presentation, you will be able to:

  1. Define Project Portfolio Management (PPM).
  2. Identify the 17 PPM principles.
  3. Understand the four categories of PPM principles.
  4. Assess their organization’s adherence to PPM principles.
  5. Explore the underlying assumptions and limitations of current PPM principles.

Did you know that the United States Air Force invented the title “Project Manager”?

In fact, much of the early development of project management was on projects performed for the government.

In this webinar Nigel Blampied (LinkedIn profile) will discuss project management by the government rather than for the government. If you work in government, or want to know more about project management in government, this is the webinar for you.

Nigel shall consider projects in the context of public organizations, how the nature of government affects projects, how the public agency perspective on projects differs from that of the private sector, and challenges faced in the public sector.

This an introduction, with more in-depth discussion to follow in future webinars.
