Projects, by nature, are a unique endeavor that often result in a change of some kind. In addition, our work environments are constantly changing.
When the changes are not introduced or handled well, people will resist, making the change more disruptive than it needs to be. If this resistance is not managed properly, it can undermine project or operational success.
This session discusses people’s reactions to change and how to navigate and manage those changes well. It also includes a one-page handout for easy reference after the session.
After this session, you will be able to:
- Identify the reactions to change, including four levels of resistance and the time, influence, and support associated with each level of resistance.
- Understand what motivates people to accept the change (or not) and become a powerful proponent for it.
- Develop strategies to overcome each level of resistance so you (and your organization) can survive and thrive!

The global pandemic clearly became a catalyst for many enterprises to accelerate their digital business initiatives.
The Gartner 2021 Digital Business Acceleration Survey reached out to enterprises across the globe to learn about organization-specific digital business acceleration actions, how they’ve changed, and their linkage to results.
Will these new developments drive permanent business and operating model changes?
In this webinar Stephen E. Smith (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner VP Analyst breaks down the results of the survey. He examines how many survey respondents are accelerating digital business as well as what different actions the “accelerators” took to achieve better outcomes.
This success, during a challenging period, sets a new competitive bar as enterprises look toward 2022.
He’ll help you understand what your peers are doing to effectively accelerate digital business initiatives and what you can do to be successful in your own efforts.
Discussion Topics:
- Digital business acceleration impacts on decision-making, prioritization and governance processes
- Operating changes affect on decision making and prioritization/investment
- Learnings from the crisis response and whether they’re sustainable in continuing to drive digital business initiatives
