In the systems development traditions of the past, most people adhered to the concept that development should be done in discrete phases.

These were typically sequential: analysis, design, implementation, and testing, often referred to as “the waterfall”.

Agile processes reject this notion almost entirely, and so one question that often arises is: if there is no design “phase”, when does design happen?

Is there a role for design in an agile process?

In this webinar Scott Bain (LinkedIn profile) will address this question and introduce the concept of an “emergent” design process.

This will be an overview, with no technical knowledge or experience required.

Sustainability has become a key parameter for organizations and this means that projects and operations have to be planned and implemented with this objective.

At the project level it may be difficult to bring in sustainability initiatives because often times the scope of the project is already determined or it is contractual.

To get a sustainability perspective one has to consider it beyond a project outcome and further this needs to be addressed by senior management. Therefore, an organizational level approach would be more appropriate.

This is where the Organizational Project Management or OPM comes in.

This approach would looks at outcomes not just at project but also at program level. It considers portfolio management to effectively implement the strategy of the organization.

In this webinar Raju Rao (LinkedIn profile)  will explore the use of OPM for Sustainability. Examples / Case Studies will be presented.

Learning Outcomes:

OPM

  • What is Organizational Project Management?
  • PMI and other standards on OPM
  • Why OPM is appropriate to implement sustainability initiatives in an organization

Sustainability

  • OPM and Sustainability -The Connect
  • The Operational Link for OPM to enable sustainability
  • Career paths for Project Managers

Build Your Dream Team!

Successful organizations realize that high-performing teams are the coin of the realm in the always-on-call global workplace.

This reliance on harnessing the power of the collective will continue to grow in importance as we near the 2020 workplace.

To best deploy the skill and productivity a team can provide, organizations and leaders must understand how to build and maintain nimble, flexible and effective team structures, regardless of the challenges.

Among these challenges are the virtual workforce, but similar to the dependence on teams, organizations have no plans to reduce the number of employees who work remotely five days a week. In fact 26% of organizations want to increase the number of remote workers across all levels.

So how does an organization better manage the performance of these critical work groups?

In much the same way they manage individual employees. Except, as many in the HR community are well aware, that hasn’t been a huge success story. The gap between where performance management processes are now (annual reviews and ratings of past performance) to where HR practitioners want them to be remains a looming reminder of HR’s vacant seat at the table.

In this webcast Yuval Dvir (LinkedIn profile, HCI bio) Digital Transformation Executive, will take a look at some of the remedies that an organization can apply to their performance management process that should help both individuals and teams.

Learn some of the fixes that HCI research recommends including continuing to invest in technology and to automate certain processes that have traditionally been viewed as more time-consuming than valuable.

In project management, negotiation is a crucial skill that enables project managers to achieve optimal outcomes within the constraints of time and cost.

In this webinar SELVAKUMAR RAJENDRAN (LinkedIn profile) focuses on successful negotiation perspectives for project managers, specifically in dealing with stakeholder dynamics, scope management, time / cost / resource constraints.

Referring to PMBOK (V7), the webinar highlights the three elements crucial for win-win negotiations: Character, Trust, and Approach. Participants will explore various negotiation approaches to pursue their intended goals and effectively create and claim value during negotiations.

The process of creating value involves a focused study of the subject matter, including its associated products and by- products.

The webinar also addresses the importance of understanding biases and leveraging them strategically for successful negotiation outcomes.

Through scenario-based discussions, participants will gain insights into how different stakeholders perceive and resolve the given issue.

By the end of the webinar, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of successful negotiation perspectives and will enhance their negotiation skills and be better equipped to navigate complex project environments.
