The 2021 LinkedIn Learning Report listed upskilling and reskilling as one of the top three areas of focus for L&D programs.

While continuous professional development increasingly resonates with the modern workforce, engaging learners for the long term continues to pose a challenge among employers whose teams are likely already juggling a variety of priorities.

More than that, constant cultural shifts present even more challenges for effectively providing impactful learning experiences that take training beyond initial onboarding and compliance.

Fortunately, the eLearning market continues to diversify, creating more opportunities for creative content, customizable solutions, and increased engagement in order to supercharge online training.

Join Claire Kruse (LinkedIn profile) Senior Manager of Support Services, Open LMS & Amy Tessitore (LinkedIn profile) Senior Manager of Support Services, Open LMS as they explore the latest trends, tips, and strategies to bolster engagement and future-proof your learning programs.

During the session, Amy & Claire will explore:

  • The current professional learning landscape: evaluating what we’ve learned and preparing for what’s ahead
  • Challenges related to sustaining and scaling eLearning, and how to prevent them by shifting your approach to engagement and impact
  • Leveraging robust technologies in order to effectively support the evolution of your organization

The most important component of a company are their employees.

Studies have shown that most barriers that lead to employee attrition are people related.

Replacing a lost employee is far more costly than training and inspiring leaders and employees while they are on payroll. Helping leaders and employees to understand how to improve their skills to improve their impact on organizations is a key component that is often over-looked.

Please join Jamal,  as he discusses:

Pivot with Passion: Darkness to Light

Leaders, it is our responsibility to walk bravely with darkness and light. Now that we are mechanically doing the same old workshops, conferences and meetings with mostly online delivery, the darkness is beginning to close around us. Here’s an interesting fact about going from light to darkness:

“… it’s the ability to adapt to darkness and the time it takes for one’s vision to recover when going from light to darkness that is most affected. Photoreceptor cells that handle our night vision die and degenerate sooner than the cells that manage our daytime vision.”

We didn’t even know we were going to be in darkness when Covid sent us home, and we are still agitated. Looking back to ‘before Covid’, most of us in L&D were doing the same things the same old ways. L&D meant teaching the same types of workshops with the same formats. Training was a commodity project (begin/end), not a process (continue).

Did learning occur? Maybe a little, but in general we played it pretty safe. The most exciting new (?) thing was Zoom.

When Covid showed up, everything went virtual. The same modules previously used face to face, morphed into online modules with producers.

Being with others physically was really scary so online was the worst best choice. The absence of real people was difficult for L&D people who like to be in person, including me.

We know how to live in this world now and we’ve slowly but surely evolved into a common, silent community of fear. Innovation in teaching, designing, leading and inventing is dialed in – everything is too risky, even L&D. We have become uncomfortably used to our new existence including masks, empty stores, and loneliness.

What if we looked at a Middlespace in L&D?

It’s time for us all to step up for innovative ways to move past doing the same pre-covid and current in-covid ways of learning. Join the TMN Webinar to look forward.

  1. What are new ways we can drive hope, innovation and learning?
  2. are the steps to minimize the power of fear?
  3. Like prisoners in the dark, how will we learn to see when we enter the light?
