Many companies are now at a critical juncture when it comes to talent development and skill building, and it is clear that dramatic changes are needed to thrive and/or even survive in the future.

To emerge stronger from this pandemic, now is the time for organizations to invest in skill transformations and apply the lessons of the past year to crystallize their current and future skill needs.

Organizations must take a holistic approach to skill transformations and focus on key initiatives and practices that we know support success; there are no shortcuts to take. And when they do so, they should not fall into the trap of focusing only on “hard” technological skills or digital only channels for learning.

The pandemic, and Numly’s research, has shown how critical skills and resilience really require different ways of learning to be cultivated.

Madhukar Govindaraju (LinkedIn profile) Founder & CEO, Numly, will discuss how companies can invent the Perfect Trifecta with Peer Coaching and AI – Employee Experience | Employee Engagement | Employee Effectiveness.

If you are looking to Unleash Greater Performance within your Remote / WFH / Hybrid Teams, this session is a must-attend.

2020 saw major changes in companies’ talent acquisition strategies. Recent shifts in the workplace — the rise of remote work, alternating hiring slowdowns and ramp-ups, and heightened attention to DEI — will continue to inform hiring and recruiting in the year ahead.

Hiring the right talent at the right time requires a multi-faceted approach. Data will increasingly inform deliberate and intentional approaches to hiring.

Additionally, a competitive talent landscape heightens the need for empathetic and authentic employer branding that resonates with an applicant’s needs and values.

Join Jillian Riley (LinkedIn profile) BetterCloud’s Director of Talent , and  Ai-Mei Zhu (LinkedIn profile) ChartHop’s Senior Talent Partner for a lively discussion.

The COVID-19 pandemic derailed diversity and inclusion efforts for many companies.

Before the crisis, diversity and inclusion was reported as the top talent management priority for CEOs. Over 800 CEOs signed the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion, to address “the concerns and needs of our diverse employees and increase equity for all, including Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, LGBTQ, disabled, veterans and women”.

Unfortunately, the global health crisis forced companies to reprioritize, pulling attention and resources away from diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at a critical time.

Research suggests that diverse groups—including women, LGBTQ+ employees, and people of color—have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, both in the workplace and with balancing work and home life.

Women in particular have experienced higher rates of unemployment — and the effect has been even more acute among women of color. We’re still dealing with the global pandemic and an uncertain economic recovery – but one thing is clear: we will be living with the consequences of this crisis for a generation, unless organizations act now to build a more diverse and inclusive leadership bench.

Nearly all of the companies in the Fortune 100 (96%) promote their diversity and inclusion efforts through mission and value statements, or in their corporate social responsibility reports.

Unfortunately, this shared commitment to diversity and inclusion has not translated to tangible progress in increasing the number of diverse executives in senior leadership roles. A large majority of HR leaders (88%) report that their organization has not been effective at increasing diversity representation. Nearly half (49%) acknowledge that their leadership bench is not diverse.

So, how do companies get back on track? HR and ID&E leaders must address the systemic bias embedded in their systems, processes, and stakeholders to truly increase the diversity of their managerial and leadership benches.

  1. They need to address the barriers that limit advancement of underrepresented talent.
  2. These include a lack of mentors and career support, and insufficient exposure to senior leaders.
  3. They need to provide more clarity around career paths and critical steps for advancement.
  4. They need to expand their leadership development efforts, providing greater access to under-represented populations.
    • If you want to build a more diverse and inclusive leadership bench, you need to start with a broader talent pipeline.

In this webinar Kip Kelly (LinkedIn profile) Director, Sounding Board Inc.;  Mary Slaughter (LinkedIn profile) Global Head of Employee Experience, Morningstar & Khalil Smith (LinkedIn profile) Vice President, Inclusion, Diversity, and Engagement, Akamai will feature industry leaders, sharing best practices to help you build a more diverse and inclusive leadership bench.

Key takeaways:

  • Why organizations need a more inclusive and diverse leadership bench
  • Why unconscious bias training doesn’t guarantee a more inclusive culture
  • The role of inclusion, empathy and belonging in the hybrid workforce
  • Which leadership capabilities are critical for a more inclusive culture
  • How to accelerate talent development to expand your leadership bench

Although introversion-extroversion is one of the most well-known of all personality traits, it is still incredibly misunderstood.

In this webcast, Scott Dust (LinkedIn profile) CRO Cloverleaf & Miami University management professor, helps bridge the gap between science and practice as it relates to introversion-extroversion in the workplace.

Scott helps clarify the introversion-extroversion construct, gives recommendations on post-pandemic return-to-work decisions, and highlights best practices for ensuring that introverts and extroverts work better together.

Scott then offers an in-depth example of an innovative approach to developing an inclusive work environment for introverts and extroverts (i.e., 84.51’s ITOPiA, a workplace community for introverts).

  • Introversion-extroversion entails more than sociability.
  • Post-pandemic, return-to-work policies should accommodate differences between introverts and extroverts.
  •  Introverts and extroverts can learn to work better together by becoming more aware of others’ workplace tendencies and preferences.
