In these times, it is necessary to go beyond diversity and inclusion (D&I), it should be more than just a policy. In fact, research shows that employees who feel their voice is heard are more likely to perform their best work.

The results of this year’s AMA Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Survey confirm that simply having a diversity & inclusion policy in place does not effectively solve the problem of discriminatory practices, whether deliberate or unconscious.

A successful culture of belonging requires leadership commitment and involvement, an ongoing practice of inclusion, recognition of unique talents and accomplishments and an environment that fosters respect for openly and authentically sharing thoughts.

This webcast will provide insight to the critical concepts of equity, belonging, and allyship, how they impact workplace culture and interactions, and the steps necessary to start building an action plan for a diversity, inclusion and belonging initiative in your organization.

Jeff will discuss the results of this survey, their implications and:

  • In-house D&I practices and policies—and whether organizations’ employees think they are being effectively implemented
  • Current D&I initiatives and what the main organizational focus relevant to these should be at the present time
  • Response rates of employees being discriminated against in the workplace
  • Awareness of unconscious bias in the workplace, from the perspective of individual employees, as well as among co-workers
  • Explore the concepts relevant to today around diversity, inclusion, belonging, allyship and equity
  • Enhance your abilities to create inclusive spaces and champion diversity
  • Take ownership of helping to create and manage a culture of respect, civility and trust
  • Inclusive leader competencies
  • Factors affecting both expression and perception
  • Understand key concepts for diversity, inclusion, and beyond needed for today

Organizations must transform themselves to survive in this new world. In order to be dynamic and adaptable, companies need to rely on networks of informal and virtual relationships, rather than traditional, formal structures.

In most cases, leaders lack visibility into these informal relationships and, as a result, they are making decisions with blinders on. Uncovering the informal networks that exist equips leaders to make better business decisions, through a better understanding of their networks.
