As we faced the challenges of 2020, organizations had to make critical choices for business priorities and resources to support their people.

At the height of remote work and quarantine, Qualtrics launched the Global Resilience Study, based on responses from over 17,000 participants on the factors most impacting the employee experiences–what employees felt like they were missing and what mattered most to them to feel safe and supported by their leaders.

The results crystallized a message we’ve seen before, but never at this scale – during times of disruption, your people want to be heard and be a part of the solution.

When leaders put their people first and show up with transparency in their decision making, engaged and resilient workforces follow.

Join this session to learn:

  • Key insights we pulled from measuring employees on resiliency
  • Changing factors driving employee experiences, engagement, and resilience
  • Steps HR leaders can take to keep an engaged workforce

Change is inevitable, even more so in the fast-paced business world. Organizations have invested significantly in training and guidance to improve the change management process, but according to Deloitte, studies show a 60%-70% failure rate.

One of the biggest obstacles to workplace transformations is the human mind, which is hard-wired to repeat past actions. But in today’s business environment, individuals must constantly learn and adapt new skills, technology and procedures to be competitive.

To effectively institute changes in the workplace, leaders must first understand the psychological journey workers take to embrace the new. Leaders also can increase their chances of successfully implementing new programs by learning the theoretical models of change management.

Acquiring the skills to lead this type of transformation is now more important than ever.

In a recent study conducted by Gartner, researchers found that typical businesses today have experienced five major organization-wide changes in the past three years – and nearly 75% of organizations expect to multiply the types of major change initiatives they will undertake in the next three years. Yet, only 34% of these transformations are a clear success.

How can organizations overcome the barriers of change management to improve business outcomes while keeping employees happy, engaged and productive?

This session discusses:

  • change management models and potential obstacles you may encounter
  • how embracing technology can improve the efficiency and success of change initiatives
  • the critical role of communication, and understanding roles and responsibilities in the workplace
  • how to achieve change management success with the right mindset and tools
  • the importance of change management planning and checklists

Here’s What You’ll Learn:

  1. One of the biggest obstacles to transformation is the human mind, which is hard-wired to repeat past actions. We’re biologically compelled to uphold the status quo even when it’s not the best option, a condition known as “repetition compulsion.”
  2. According to McKinsey & Company, less than 30% of transformational initiatives succeed, but organizations can increase their likelihood of a positive outcome through an effective change management program.
  3. Establishing new processes and procedures isn’t easy. But digital technologies provide opportunities for bettering communication, improving efficiency and boosting productivity to help successfully facilitate change management initiatives.

As economic fallout from the pandemic mounts, greater numbers of companies are facing the possibility of having to reduce their workforce.

This is often a last resort after organizations have exhausted other options such internal mobility programs and redeployment initiatives to avoid letting go of valued employees. And while the best time to prepare for these moments is well ahead of them happening, the truth is that many companies are not prepared.

They don’t have a plan in place, and even for the one’s that do, many in the HR ranks may have not experienced large-scale layoffs in the decade of prosperity since the Great Recession.

Add to this the complexity of handling layoff notifications remotely.  The well-being of your employees and your employer brand and reputation are at stake depending on how you handle this situation.

Join Lindsay Witcher (LinkedIn profile) Ranstad VP, Global Practice Strategy & Solutions & learn the steps to take when getting ready for a layoff. You’ll gain best practices for planning, communicating and managing your force reduction; how to handle virtual notifications; and pitfalls to avoid.

Lindsay will also explain how outplacement services can help departing employees find their next roles faster, maintain the morale of remaining employees and safeguard your company’s reputation.
