Covid 19 has impacted every sphere of the world and Projects are not an exception. The scenario has unraveled a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world and taught mankind to totally change the way of working (WoW) in the post pandemic era. As far as projects are concerned, many of the Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEFs) have been impacted during Covid and drastic changes have been effected in those making the factors counter-productive for value creation in a project.

The application and inculcation of TQM principles in projects can effect these EEFs to transcend the counter-productive consequences and transform them for value creation.

Total Quality Management is a management concept and philosophy that originated in the 1950s in Japan and has steadily become more popular since the early 1980s.

The principles of TQM, if applied appropriately to the organization’s environment, shall bring positive transformation with respect to value creation in a project particularly in the post Covid era.

In this session Goutam Sengupta‘s (LinkedIn profile) addresses the importance of the principles of TQM for enhancing value creation in projects in the post Covid scenario.

It shall elaborate on the effectiveness of the principles of TQM through our work employing validated Research Methodologies which was constructed with identified global stakeholders and tested on sample units for arriving at feasible conclusions.

It shall also enumerate how TQM principles can be suitably adapted for value creation in projects in post- pandemic era by transforming project management processes and ways of working to usher value enhancement in projects.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Understanding the importance and significance of TQM principles.
  2. The plight that the pandemic has inflicted on the world and businesses.
  3. Brainstorming on the feasible solutions for projects to combat this perilous situation.
  4. The power of TQM principles to overcome this crisis.
  5. Comprehending application of Research Methodologies carried out by us on global stakeholders for utilization of TQM principles to benefit Projects in their quest for resilience in the post pandemic era.
  6. Evolving a framework for rejuvenation of projects through judicious application, adoption and implementation of TQM principles to transform the detrimental effect on Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEFs) and other processes affecting projects.
