Traditional perspectives on project management—and our normal frameworks, standards and methodologies—get us to a common level of understanding of project management.

We share an overall understanding of process, a general appreciation of tools, and a common vocabulary by which to discuss them.

  1. But what’s next?
  2. How do we take our skills to the next level?
  3. And what does that level even look like?

In this webinar Mark Mullaly (LinkedIn profile) author of Researching the Value of Project Management  delves into the depths of project management. It defines what technical mastery looks like, why it is relevant, the reasons we might choose to attain it and the steps to consider following in order to get there.

If you aspire to the next level of development in your project management career, you’ll want to attend.

Every project manager should have a proven, practical, and powerful toolkit – of skills, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, and templates – to help a project or program’s success. The toolkit should be proven (it works), practical (efficient and adaptable), and powerful (big impact).

This is the first in a series of webinars that will share tools you can use on your projects. This webinar focuses on three proven, practical, and powerful tools: Information Mapping, Results Chains, and Benefits Registers. It provides you with a good understanding of each tool, real-world examples, and practical tips to apply them successfully.

  1. Information Mapping is a writing method and format — it improves a project’s written communication for both the writer and the reader.
  2. Results Chains identify a program’s activities and outcomes and the relationships among them — it clarifies and visually communicates what needs to be done and why.
  3. Benefit Registers document a program’s intended benefits, specify how to measure them, and show progress — it proves if a program is achieving the expected outcomes.

Join Daniel Sklar (LinkedIn profile)  and turbocharge your project management with these three tools!

Get ready to apply Improvisation techniques as a project professional.  Regardless of your role: Project Manager, Change Manager, SCRUM Master, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Program Manager, or Subject Matter Expert, you will benefit from Using Applied Improv as a means of establishing Healthy Communication within your teams!

This is not Improv in the sense of comedians at a nightclub in Los Angles.  This Improv in the sense of getting ideas to solve unknowns and define abstract ideas in concrete deliverables.

The Stuff You Do Every Day!

We often host workshops, requirement elicitation sessions, lessons learned meetings, iteration retrospectives, and project kickoffs.  This presentation will help you bring life to those meetings (ceremonies?)

Applied Improv is a way of approaching a conversation that helps facilitate a growth mindset, generative thinking, and building a team whose members feel included and heard.

Using the principles of Applied Improv, you will learn how to energize your meetings, workshops and requirements elicitation sessions.

You will find new ways to interact with your stakeholders to create a growth mindset, increase participation, discuss feedback, and suggest improvements.

Just as Improv implies creative thinking, Applied Improv has defined practices to encourage generative thinking.

Be prepared for a different type of webinar.  This is not going to be a typical webinar.  This will be an Applied Improv session.

Since this session is offering PDUs, there will be a few slides and training, but the majority of the time will be spent using Applied Improve to help you understand how it can benefit you.

Instead of a presenter, there will be a four person team using the techniques.  This is not a scripted session, nor is it “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”  It is two project professionals and two Applied Improv Professions demonstrating leadership and soft skills for project professionals.
