Networks are as different as the people and organizations that use them. Despite those differences, there are some foundational components that all networks share. This session will explore different types of networks and the common components that must exist in these networks. We will look at TCP/IP, the protocol suite that connects the whole world together and look at the ways in which we connect to the world via the Internet.

Learn:

  • Network Components
  • Network Types
  • Network Protocols
  • Internet Access Technologies

We have always had a fascination with the future — from the Oracle of Delphi, to predictive analytics or today’s weather forecast. But particularly in times of risk, pressure and uncertainty, it is easy to forget about the future.

Thinking about the future gives you the perspective you need to anticipate threats and trends that could jeopardize you today.

Every professional should be a bit of a futurist to take the lead in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world.

In this webinar, Richard Addiscott (LinkedIn profile) Gartner Sr Director Analyst uses Gartner’s global “Digitopia” studies — with the zeitgeist from more than 25 countries — to help you harness the future to make your enterprise more secure today.

Discussion Topics:

  • Why every professional must be a bit of a futurist
  • How knowing the future better secures your enterprise today
  • How the Gartner “Digitopia” studies can give you valuable foresight

Voice user experiences, like Alexa, Google, Cortana, and Siri,  becoming as prolific as laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Learning professionals need to start exploring ways to effectively incorporate voice technology into the learning ecosystem.

Designing for voice interaction can be intimidating because the tech is so new. How do we translate our existing skills in order to create engaging voice learner experiences?

In this session, Myra Roldan will explain how to translate your existing skills to design for a voice user interface (VUI).

Myra will explore the basics of VUI design including, sample dialogs, flow diagrams, prompt lists, and mocks. Then we will apply these concepts using free tools to develop and test a VUI learning experience that can then be used to program a skill for a voice app like Alexa or Google Home.

Presenter: Myra Roldan (LinkedIn profile) is an award-winning instructional designer & author of Augmented!: Augment YOUR Learning Reality. Git is an amazing version control tool. It is really great at tracking changes, its powerful branching capability is second to none, blazing-fast operations makes it a pleasure to work with — there are so many reasons for making Git the de-facto version control tool for modern software projects.

However, Git is only Git. Carefully following the “Single Responsibility Principle”, Git has “just” one job: version control. Often times, organizations have requirements that won’t be addressed by Git: security and access control, availability, workflow governance, compliance, and so on and so forth.

In this webinar, Bob Jenkins & Miikka Andersson will get familiar with how an Enterprise Version Control solution addresses those, and many other, requirements by introducing a layer of security, scalability, governance, and compliance, making Git truly enterprise-ready!

No worries. Everyone who registers will receive a link to the recording and slides.
